Description
During the Euro tour after the release of “Santana?” in 1971, the May 1st stage performance at the annual “Montreux Jazz Festival” held in Montreux, Switzerland, was recorded with amazing quality at the time. It can be said that it is a complete recording from the audience master. First of all, all records of the three days of the performance remain, some of which have been officially released, and film footage still exists, but there is no complete recording of the entire day’s live performance. That can be said to be valuable. The dynamic and fast-paced performance unique to early Santana has been perfectly reproduced, and the set was full of Latin-tinged percussive numbers from his first three albums, as well as Neil, who later formed Journey. This was when Greg Rory was enrolled, and the drums were also played by Michael Shreve! In particular, the heated guitar battle between Santana and Neal Schon is a must-see. DISC ONE : 01.
