Description

An upgraded version of the precious Randy Rhoads era standard recordings is now available. This work was recorded at the Uniondale performance on August 14, 1981. This is an audience album that contains a scene from the “BLIZZARD OF OZZ TOUR 1980-1981”. Although the Randy era was short, there were also member changes during each tour, making it a little difficult to grasp. This is a good opportunity to briefly organize it here. {September 12th: “BLIZZARD OF OZZ” released} ・September – November 1980: UK #1 (34 performances) {March 1981: “DIARY OF A MADMAN” completed} = Change of rhythm section = ・April – July 1981: North America #1 (59 performances) ・August 1981: UK #2 (HM HOLOCAUST) ・August – September 1981: North America #2 (34 performances) ←★Here★ {November 7th: “DIARY OF A MADMAN” released} ・November 1981: Germany (7 performances) ・November – December 1981: UK #3 (3 performances) = Change of keyboard player = ・December 1981 – March 1982: North America #3 (46 performances) {March 19th: Randy Rhoads passes away} A total of 184 performances. This is the full picture of the live activities performed by Ozzy and Randy. The tour was divided into “BLIZZARD OF OZZ TOUR” and “DIARY OF A MADMAN TOUR” after the release of “DIARY OF A MADMAN”, but the Uniondale performance in this work is the 10th live album of “North America #2”, the final period of “BLIZZARD OF OZZ TOUR”. The rhythm section was replaced by Rudy Sarzo/Tommy Aldridge, and the keyboard is Lindsey Bridgewater. This show has been known for its recordings for a long time, and some have already been released. This work is not a copy or remaster. It is a master recently released by the popular “KRW-CO”, and is an extremely elegant digitized from the 1st Gene cassette. In fact, the sound of this work is a wonderful audience sound that updates the best ever. It is not the type that you would call “like a sound board”, but the freshness and natural sound that have never been seen before are beautiful. Ozzy and Randy, who are the most important things, are clear. That unique guitar sound dances with vivid detail and freshness. Rather, it may be easier to understand this work side by side with other recordings. This “North America # 2” is a big hit with the 5th performance Providence performance “HOWLLING BLIZZARD” and the 6th performance South Fallsburg performance “MUSIC MOUNTAIN 1981”, but with this upgrade, the Uniondale performance has also joined. It is a sound worthy of being called the “three major sound sources”. Strictly speaking, the Providence performance is the head of the three, but this work is on par with the South Falls performance. Rather, the balance of the audience and the musical sound / singing voice is similar, and it is a sound that reminds us of that masterpiece. The wonderful thing about the show depicted with that quality… Of course, the contents are very similar to the above two works because the days are close, but I’m glad that all the songs are recorded, including “Children Of The Grave” and “Paranoid”, which were ended halfway in “MUSIC MOUNTAIN 1981”. Of course, there is a cut due to cassette change, but it is almost at the same time as the end of “Steal Away (The Night)”. And the recording resumes at the entrance of the drum solo. In other words, the only thing that is cut is Ozzy’s words “We love you all, Mr.Tommy Aldridge on drums!!”. This work has a sound comparable to “MUSIC MOUNTAIN 1981”, but the luck of recording is better. It is a work loved by the goddess. Each one is a precious record of the Randy era. Among them, it is a masterpiece of the real audience drawn with one of the best 1st generation sounds. A group of masterpieces played by many successor guitarists and sung by Ozzy thousands of times. However, this brilliance can only be Randy himself. A fleeting and beautiful phrase that seems to break if you touch it. Live at Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY.
