Description

This year, 2025, marks the 20th anniversary of Oasis’ 4th album “STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS,” and official reissue LPs and 4K remastered PVs are being released vigorously. The world tour accompanying the album was full of ups and downs, and one of its major features was the many irregular stages. Particularly rare is the period when Noel temporarily left the tour due to trouble within the band, and the unprecedented “tour continued without Noel”! The first-time appearance long version of the shocking soundboard capturing the extremely rare stage at the time of Noel’s departure can also be heard on “MARSEILLE 2000 (1CD),” but another one sent by a British Oasis researcher is a stereo soundboard recording from Noel’s absence in 2000 in Vienna on June 2nd. This is an audience recording, but the shocking discovery that the soundboard was not even available among traders. This is also a PA-out stereo soundboard recording, and the sound quality is extremely clear and the stereo feeling is outstanding. However, unlike the conventional audience, the PA-out recording has brought out Liam’s rough voice. This is evident from the opening “Go Let It Out”. Still, the beginning of the live performance is more stable than Marseille, and “Who Feels Love?” sounds better than Marseille. However, when it comes to “Shakermaker”, the roughness of the voice escalates further. And in “Gas Panic!”, the voice finally goes over. This scene was clearly noticeable in the audience recording, but when it is a PA-out soundboard, it is pushed to the front. Because of this, the scene where Liam’s voice goes over again in “Cigarettes & Alcohol”, which was not much of a concern for the audience, is noticeable. Also, even if the voice does not go over, Marseille is clearly better at singing “Stand By Me” and “Live Forever”. This must be a valuable stereo soundboard recording, but… lol. Also, the compactness of a full gig on one CD during this period is attractive, and releasing it as a two-disc set is a bit different. Although it is a very valuable stereo soundboard recording, we have decided to make it available to everyone for a wider audience. This work has an outstanding stereo feel, and the guitar combination of Gem and temporary substitute Matt Dayton, which is only available during this period, can be clearly heard. Listening to it like this, Gem not only copied Noel’s phrases, but also added his own phrases to the ending of “Live Forever”, for example, and on the other hand, Matt is captured as being a pleasantly unobtrusive backstage player. It can be said that this is already a first-class research material. After all, there were extremely few items during this period even in real time due to the incident of Noel’s mid-way departure. For Oasis fans, this item is definitely not to be missed. Wiener Stadthalle – Halle D, Vienna, Austria 2nd June 2000 STEREO SBD (74:05) 1. Intro. 2. Go Let It Out 3. Who Feels Love? 4. Supersonic 5.
