Description
“Fast” Eddie Clark passed away on January 10, 2018. At the end of 2015, Phil Taylor and Remy passed away in quick succession, two years and 13 days later. Even the last member of the “Golden Trio” has left us. Eddie passed away at the age of 67. He was hospitalized with pneumonia, but apparently passed away peacefully. Coincidentally, the day before, the last guitarist, Phil Campbell, had revealed his plans for a Lemmy memorial performance, saying, “We’re going to bring together former members and adjust the schedule. It’s going to be a special tribute to Lemmy and the band.” Eddie’s participation had just attracted attention. Starting with Lemmy’s death, there was a rush of news about the deaths of musicians, but Eddie’s death just after the news had calmed down. I thought I had gotten used to it, but it was really tough. It’s been a disappointing new year. We have prepared the best professional shots of the “Golden Trio”. This work includes “Nottingham performance on August 20, 1980”. It is a masterpiece video that has been loved by enthusiasts as “the twins of ACE OF SPADES” and “the video version of NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH.” Why is it called that? First, let’s look back at 1980-1981, when they were at their peak. [1980] February 7th – March 25th: Europe #1 (29 performances) April 20th – July 26th: Europe #2 (4 performances) 《August 4th “ACE OF SPADES” Start of production》・August 20th: Nottingham performance ←Here is [this work]《September 15th “ACE OF SPADES” completed》・October 22nd – December 2nd: UK #1 (33 performances) [1981 ]・February 6th-March 24th: Europe #3 (19 performances)・March 27th-April 6th: UK #2 (5 performances)←*Atrocious Live ・April 19th-July 26th: North America #1 (59 performances) [“NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH” released on June 27th] August 1st-23rd: Europe #4 (5 performances) November 20th-December 23rd :Europe #5 (23 performances) These are the two years that the “Golden MOTORHEAD” has traveled. The Nottingham performance of this work was not a part of the album tour, but a special performance that was held only once during the production of the masterpiece “ACE OF SPADES”. This is the reason for the “ACE OF SPADES twins”. And this is also close to the famous album “NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH”. The historic live album was recorded for three days, “March 28-30, 1981,” but this work was recorded about half a year before that. Speaking of the definitive video of the “Golden Trio”, there is also “LIVE IN TORONTO 1982” performed in Toronto in 1982, but it is much closer than that and the same British live. It is a professional shot that is truly worthy of being called “the video version of NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH.” This work is the pinnacle version of such a masterpiece and classic. It was made into a DVD from the broadcast master of the British TV program “Rock Stage”, and there is no dubbing or aging deterioration at all. Naturally, there is a filmy feel to the screen, but that is actually an important element that conveys the flavor of the early 1980s. The realistic visual beauty spreads as if the TV radio waves of the time had traveled 38 years and arrived. And the “Golden Trio” drawn with that quality is also vintage. The set where a bomber flies past your head and the orange lighting are right in the world of “NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH.” I imagined a “moving MOTORHEAD” while staring at the LP-sized artwork, and that exact image appears before my eyes. And the rock’n’roll that is played out in this scene is also as fast as “NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH.” As mentioned earlier, they were in the middle of producing “ACE OF SPADES,” but they already performed “Shoot You In The Back” and “Jailbait.” These two songs are genuine premieres. In addition, “Overkill,” “Metropolis,” and “Motorhead” bring back the impact of “NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH,” and “Too Late Too Late,” “Leaving Here,” and “Train Kept A Rollin'” make us look forward to more treasured live performances. It’s dazzling. In particular, “Step Down” is a song that could not be heard even in the expanded 2-disc set of “NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH”, but you can witness Eddie singing the lead just like on the album. And in “Bomber”, a bomber finally cuts through the darkness and approaches at low altitude! They are truly the twins of ACE OF SPADES and the video version of NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH. This is the highest level pro shot. The golden three have left. This is a piece that allows you to remember the moment when they shined at their best and meet them again. There’s no point in being sore. It doesn’t suit MOTORHEAD. This weekend, please enjoy drinking Jack & Coke while playing this work at full blast.
