Description
MOTORHEAD in 1999 entered their second golden age with the release of “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE,” which was even said to be “the greatest album since NO SLEEP ‘TIL HAMMERSMITH.” A new excavated live album that allows you to experience that powerful live performance 100% is now available. This work is recorded from the “November 16, 1999 Gothenburg performance.” This is the best audience recording. At that time, it was after the release of the rare masterpiece “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE,” but in terms of studio works, it was also the “SNAKE BITE LOVE” era. Here, let’s check the show’s position on the schedule that includes both works. 1998 February 26th + March 1st: North America #1 (2 shows) {March 10th “SNAKE BITE LOVE” released} April 3rd: Universal City show April 30th – June 30th: Europe #1 (26 shows) ← ※ Official EVERYTHING LOUDER July 3rd – August 2nd: North America #2 (20 shows) August 12th – 23rd: Europe #2 (4 shows) October 4th – November 29th: Europe #3 (32 shows) 1999 March 9th “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE” released April 20th – June 2nd: North America #3 (24 shows) June “WE ARE MOTORHEAD production started ・June 6th – August 16th: Europe #4 (15 performances) ・October 1st – November 4th: North America #4 (28 performances) ・November 9th – December 4th: Europe #5 (18 performances) ←★Here★ This is MOTORHEAD in 1998/1999. Roughly speaking, 1998 = “SNAKE BITE LOVE Tour” and 1999 = “EVERYTHING LOUDER Tour”, but the Gothenburg performance of this work is the final stage of the series of projects. It was the sixth concert of “Europe #5”. This work is a superb audience that is powerful yet neat. It is a little different from the zero distance feeling of a sound board, but the sound is clear and detailed. The drums are especially beautiful. The high-pitched sound of the cymbals is metallic and shiny, but not at all sharp, and the bass drum’s deep bass is powerful enough to kick up your five organs and shake your six viscera, but it doesn’t freak out at all even at the peak of the sound. The hall sound gives the core thickness and dynamism while not hiding the details. And what makes the taste of such a recording shine even more is the freshness of the master. It is a work of a taper called “Barrhult”, but it has been digitized directly from the original cassette, and there are no dubbing marks or deterioration over time. From the rise of each sound to the end of the fade, it is beautifully drawn without any distortion. Such “beautiful sound only for the audience” is spelled out as a full show that further condenses the potential of a super masterpiece live album. The above “Europe # 5” is basically (not all) a festival-style tour “MONSTERS OF THE MILLENIUM” by four groups MANOWAR, MOTORHEAD, DIO, and LION’S SHARE. Therefore, although the set is a little short, it still lasts about 75 minutes and 17 songs in rapid succession. Let’s summarize the contents here. Golden Trio Era (7 songs) ・Overkill: No Class/Metropolis/Overkill ・Bomber: Dead Men Tell No Tales (★) ・Ace Of Spades: Ace Of Spades ・Iron Fist: Iron Fist After (9 songs) ・No Remorse: Killed By Death ・Orgasmatron: Orgasmatron ・1916: I’m So Bad (Baby I Don’t Care)/Going To Brazil ・Bastards: Born To Raise Hell ・Sacrifice: Over Your Shoulder/Sacrifice ・Overnight Sensation: Civil War ・Snake Bite Love: Take The Blame *Note: The ★ mark indicates songs that could not be heard on the super masterpiece “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE”. …And so on. The style is a condensed version of the 25-song album “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE,” with the rare song “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” which was revived for the first time in 18 years. However, even though the selection is similar, the order of the songs is quite different, and the kickoff with “Bomber” is quite fresh. Even so, MOTORHEAD in the late 1990s is a little different. The final trio of “Lemmy/Phil Campbell/Mickey Dee” had been immobile for 20 years (half of MOTORHEAD’s 40-year history), but in 1999 it had been five years since they had solidified. The ensemble, which is filled with a sense of fulfillment and maturity, is powerful and unparalleled. “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE” was not a product of chance, but a super masterpiece that was inevitable. This live album will convince you that the “second golden age” is an on-site experience. A superb audience recording of the “Gothenburg performance on November 16, 1999”. This is a masterpiece created by the original master of the much-talked-about “Barrhult” collection, and is powerful yet neat. The drums are particularly beautiful, with the high-pitched sound of the cymbals having a metallic luster and a tera-tera-tera, but no sharpness at all, and the deep bass of the bass drum is powerful enough to kick up your five organs and shake your six viscera, but it doesn’t freak out at all even at the peak of the sound. This is a great recording in which the hall sound gives thickness and dynamism to the core while not hiding the details. This live album also allows you to experience the delicious “second golden age” on-site, with the rare song “Dead Men Tell No Tales” that cannot be heard on the official masterpiece “EVERYTHING LOUDER THAN EVERYONE ELSE”.
