This is the Hamburg performance from Miles Davis’ Birdland tour in November 1956. It has been remastered from a master digitally recorded from a recent broadcast, and the sound quality is at the official level. This year is strongly associated with albums such as “Relaxin'” and “Cookin'”, but the sessions for the Prestige label (commonly known as the marathon sessions) that produced these albums had been completed by the previous month, and the members were completely different. Miles and Lester Young were the leads, and the main group was Rene Urtreger’s trio. Bud Powell’s piano solo stage was inserted into it.
