Description
Mick’s first performance in Japan was in 1988, but since it was broadcast on TV almost in real time, not many bootlegs were released. Even the recordings were not released on CD until the 1990s. At that time, most of the recordings were audience recordings on analog records. It was only in the 21st century that the full picture of Mick’s first performance in Japan was revealed. Do you remember that a mysterious analog record was released at that time? It was a 10-inch acetate record marked as for broadcast in Canada. Some of you may remember the disc, which was made by selecting six songs from the broadcast sound source, along with the unique smell of acetate records (lol). There was no jacket, and only a sheet was attached with the song titles and the fact that it was for broadcast. This item is a careful tracing and reproduction of that disc. In the first place, acetate records are discs that are cut for trial before being officially pressed, and it is said that due to the nature of the material, they can only be played about 20 times at most. It is also said that the sound quality deteriorates with each playback, but the condition of the disc used this time does not seem to have deteriorated that much as far as listening goes. Please understand that it feels like listening to a familiar sound source on a nostalgic AM radio broadcast. In 1988, it was a time of transition from analog records to CDs, so there may not have been many people who got this acetate record (which is still used today mainly as a test record for listening). Some of you may be wondering, “What was that sound like?” (laughs) I think you will enjoy this item as it fills the gaps in your memories.
