Description

From the 2004 “ARACHNOPHOBIAC” US tour where Michael Schenker welcomed Chris Logan, the performance in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 15th will appear with a professional-level superb audience shot! Release decision! Since 2000, Michael Schenker has been releasing albums consistently every year, paralleling UFO and MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (and solo activities under the name MICHAEL SCHENKER). At that time, Chris Logan was the singer in MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP. Michael and Chris’ combination “BE AWARE OF SCORPIONS” and “ARACHNOPHOBIAC” are distinctive in Michael’s work, with a straight style that reflects Chris’s individuality. At that time, Michael was facing various troubles both in his personal life and business life, and things were not going well (especially around the time of “ARACHNOPHOBIAC”, it was so serious that it even interfered with recording). However, as enthusiasts have said since the ’80s, “Michael’s guitar solos are more amazing when he’s in trouble”, Michael left a memorable performance in his albums and live performances at that time. In the 2004 Philadelphia performance recorded in this work, you can enjoy Schenker’s live performance at that time for about 100 minutes. The 2004 tour accompanying “ARACHNOPHOBIAC” was released as the official live video “WORLD WIDE LIVE 2004” of the live performance in Poland in March. However, due to the constraints of appearing at a festival, the official live performance was not a full set at that time, and some songs were omitted. In contrast, this work is the complete version including “Fat City N.O.”, “Because I Can”, and “Fatal Strike”, which were not officially released. Since the 2004 M.S.G. live show only had a limited number of items, this work, which gives a full picture of the live show, will please enthusiasts. Another major feature of this work is the excellent shooting and excellent image quality that is comparable to professional shots. Although it is a shot from the audience, the shooting on a tripod is almost as stable and impressive as a professional shot. From the opening intro, fans will be glued to the screen. Vocalist Chris Logan is a powerful type of Gary Barden, and he blends into Michael’s numbers from “Are You Ready To Rock” (he suits not only UFO numbers “Mother Mary” and “Let It Roll” but also “Assault Attack” surprisingly well). The members supporting Michael are the familiar Wayne Findlay on keyboards, Reb Jones on bass, and Pete Holmes on drums (this rhythm section also participated in the 2014 US tour). Rev, who looks and plays funky, is a player whose charm can be felt more in a video like this than in a sound source. In many songs, he swings his hair around and moves around, and in some ways, he shows off his high technique, which is more interesting than Michael. Of course, Michael’s guitar is great in every song. Not only the standard songs, but also songs that are no longer played, such as “Fat City N.O.” and “Because I Can,” he plays with sharpness. The “ARACHNOPHOBIAC” number, which is played three times in a row in the middle of the live show, is a big highlight. The catchy “Rock And Roll Believer,” the heavy “Arachnophobiac,” and the melodic “Fatal Strike” are all unique. You can’t help but think, “It would be a shame to let this be forgotten like this!” The highlight of the “Into The Arena” live show. It would be interesting to compare it with the take from the 2014 US tour, where the same members are playing. From this point on, Michael’s signature songs are played one after another. UFO and M.S.G. classics such as “Only You Can Rock Me”, “Too Hot To Handle”, “On And On” and “Attack Of The Mad Axeman” are alternated, and the encore ends with the usual “Doctor Doctor” and “Rock Bottom”. With a different perspective from the official live work, excellent video quality, and even songs not officially released, this work allows you to fully enjoy the fun of Michael’s 2004 live. It is also interesting that 10 years after this live, 2014 US tour, everyone except singer Chris Logan performed with Michael. Of course, it comes with an original menu only for this work.
