Description
Dave Mustaine was kicked out of METALLICA in 1983. A live album of the first time he opened for his old band is set to be released. The “legendary night” was the San Francisco performance on December 31, 1985. It was the New Year’s Eve event “NEW YEAR’S EVE 1985” held in his hometown. It was a traditional local event, but this year METALLICA, who had swept the world with “RIDE THE LIGHTNING”, appeared as the headliner. Not only MEGADETH, but also EXODUS and METAL CHURCH were appointed as the opening act, and it is said to be “the most metal night in human history” among maniacs. This work is an audience album that contains both METALLICA and MEGADETH from that precious and miraculous night. METALLICA and MEGADETH’s collaborative works “WOODSTOCK ’99: DIGITAL MASTER EDITION” and “DOWNLOAD 2012” will also be released, but let’s take a look back at the history of these two great artists’ collaborations. {April 1983: Mustaine expelled from METALLICA} A: December 1985: First joint New Year’s Eve event (1 performance) → [This work] B: June 1993: Reconciliation tour (5 performances) → “BULLSHIT IS OVER!!” C: July 1999: Woodstock 99 (1 performance) → “WOODSTOCK ’99: DIGITAL MASTER EDITION” D: June 2010-September 2011: Big 4 (13 performances) → “THE BIG 4 – SWEDEN 2011” E: June 2012: DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL (1 performance) → “DOWNLOAD 2012” [The only joint performance in the 1980s] In this way, we have titled the shows where the two giants encountered each other, and this work is the first “A” and the live album of “the only joint performance in the 1980s”. The quality of this work is a vintage sound that flows realistically from the harsh scene. There are some sound cuts and unstable parts in the MEGADETH edition (please rest assured that this is not a player malfunction), but this is the truth of the 1st generation cassette that was recently excavated. Its freshness is incomparable to the conventional, and the sharp and vivid riffs cut right through the middle. The METALLICA edition was not the 1st generation, but still used the best master currently known. Perhaps the recording environment was settled in the main act, and you can enjoy the violent thrash metal with a much more stable sound than the MEGADETH edition. [Premiere of the No. 1 song of all time] Such a rough sound makes the harsh “early thrash” even more amazing. This day is famous above all for being the “first meeting of the two heroes,” but another point is the set list. The following year, in 1986, both bands released the historic masterpieces “PEACE SELLS… BUT WHO’S BUYING?” and “MASTER OF PUPPETS,” and they performed new songs from those albums. MEGADETH performed six new songs, and METALLICA performed two new songs, with the title numbers “Peace Sells” and “Master Of Puppets” attracting particular attention. This was MEGADETH’s second performance of the day, and METALLICA’s first performance. Currently, these two songs are the “No. 1 most performed songs of all time” for both bands, but the first and second times were on the same night and on the same stage. Of course, the super masterpiece that they performed in front of the public for the first time (or the second time) was a super violent version with full initial impulse. Although the other new songs were not at the “just a few times” level, they were still in the very early stages. They will crush the audience in front of them, and eventually the whole world! It’s a thrash paradise that hits and pushes with tremendous heat and roughness (even though the audience at the venue was supposed to be hearing the song for the first time, they were really excited. It’s a historic super masterpiece). This is the first direct confrontation album between METALLICA and MEGADETH, and it is also a live album that is the prototype of the super masterpieces “PEACE SELLS… BUT WHO’S BUYING?” and “MASTER OF PUPPETS”. It is a masterpiece that swirls with the momentum of creating a historic masterpiece and masterpiece, and slash metal that is “I can’t lose”. I would like all thrashers who are obsessed with the initial impulse without regard for sound quality to know about it.
