Description
MEGADETH’s Japan performance in its heyday, and a super real soundboard leaked by the people involved! This work includes the “May 29 Kanagawa Kenmin Hall performance” of “YOUTHANASIA JAPANESE TOUR 1995”. It is an extremely superb sound source that has been praised on overseas sound source mania sites as “by far the best at all Japanese performances!” That’s no wonder, this work is a stereo soundboard sound source recorded by the people involved, mixed with loud cheers from an ambient microphone. Because of its vividness, it is considered the “best audience recording” worldwide, but it can’t be helped because overseas enthusiasts don’t know about these leaks. Normally, I would think, “Since it is a home-recorded sound board, if you just release it as is…”, but when you actually listen to it, the tag of “sound board & loud cheers” of this work is super powerful. First of all, from the band ensemble of the sound board, the power of the heyday is fully opened. Not only does Nick Menza’s pre-nori beat and Marty Friedman’s enka melodies, but the sharpness of these two is also outstanding. On top of that, they have just released their new song “YOUTHANASIA” to number 4 in the US and are full of momentum. The vivid direct sound of “A Tout Le Monde”, which is difficult to understand in everyday life, even the detailed effect switching, is truly amazing… At that, Japan is cheering loudly. This is also amazing. After all, their previous album “COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION” was scheduled to be performed at Budokan, but it was canceled at the last minute. Three years later, MEGADETH, who were even rumored to be disbanding at one point, has finally returned, and there is a tremendous amount of enthusiasm that is on the verge of breaking even before the performance begins. The loud cheers, or rather the screams of “Here we come!” during the opening song “Skin O My Teeth” are enough to give you goosebumps. Even a small break brings a tidal wave of cheers over and over again. After that, “Hanger 18” and “Wake Up Dead” led by a fluent Japanese MC saying “Good evening Yokohama. Welcome to the show. Thank you very much. This is from 1986″… Even though it should be a familiar song, It is a spectacular version that you have never heard before. It’s MEGADETH, where everyone is busy playing their instruments and defending their positions, so even though there isn’t much encouragement, the wave is so big… it’s amazing. It’s no wonder that the people involved who witnessed this unprecedented live performance wanted to cover it with audience noise. No, good job on mixing it! The show will be centered around the “orthodox metal trilogy” of “RUST IN PEACE,” “COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION,” and “YOUTHANASIA.” The songs from “YOUTHANASIA”, such as “Reckoning Day,” “Train Of Consepuences,” and “The Killing Road,” which are hard to hear these days, are really good. In the album, I felt uneasy about the continuous mid-tempo, but in the live performance where the pace was effective, it became many times more appealing. The crying melody seems to shine brightly when mixed with early thrash songs that have been brought back sharply by skillful players. Speaking of the coolness of the bass jam added to the intro of “Train Of Consepuences”…is this the power of the heyday? The best part is “Crown of Worms” which was a bonus track on the Japanese version! It’s such a rare song that overseas enthusiasts try to get their hands on this work just for this one song, and what’s more, this is the first performance. It was a studio take so cool that it was hard to believe it was a bonus song, but its sharpness really shines through. In fact, musicians who are in the groove become great no matter what they do. The film ends with Dave Mustaine exclaiming, “You guys… are the best!” For their next album, “CRYPTIC WRITINGS,” MEGADETH will come to Japan twice for one album and go on a carpet tour to the countryside. It was this “YOUTHANASIA JAPANESE TOUR 1995” that determined their popularity in Japan, comparable to YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and MR. BIG. MEGADETH has visited Japan many times since then and is now returning to Japan as a member of LOUDPARK. Each time, they gave a wonderful performance, but I have never seen them “on top of their game” like this. This is one of MEGADETH’s greatest masterpieces, capturing its peak performance with a soundboard and capturing its historical popularity with ambient makeup. I would like to recommend it not only to those who love them, but also to those who are thinking, “Maybe I should listen to a band called MEGADETH.” Even if you listen to it before the official studio album, you’ll be surprised at how popular it was. Such a masterpiece live album is buried in darkness…I can’t allow that to happen. Live at Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, Yokohama, Japan 29th May 1995 STEREO SBD(Ambient Mix) Disc 1 1. Intro 2.
