Description

The phantom official work released exclusively for the fan club is reprinted. A live album that allows you to enjoy the precious unplugged stage of the Marty Friedman era has been decided to be released. This work includes the “Philadelphia performance on July 10, 1998”. It is an official soundboard recording of an unplugged live performance. Speaking of unplugged fan club versions, some people may remember “UNPLUGGED IN BOSTON” which was recently reissued by an indie label, but this work is completely different. It is a rare album that was also released by the fan club but remains out of print. Another point is that while “UNPLUGGED IN BOSTON” was from the Al Pitrelli era, this work is from the Marty era. At that time, there were many member changes, so let’s start by looking back on the journey at that time.・January 2-June 9: North America #1a (61 performances) {June 10: Menza leaves → Degrasso joins as substitute} ・June 10-July 7: North America #1b (22 performances) {July 8: Jimmy Degrasso officially joins} ・July 8-August 15: North America #1c (24 performances) ←★Here★ ・September 17-October 4: South America #1 (9 performances) ・November 14-23: Asia #1 (7 performances) ・December 30+31: Phoenix (2 performances) This is MEGADETH in 1998. This year, there was a change from Nick Menza to Jimmy Degrasso, but the Philadelphia performance of this work was just after Degrasso, who was a support, was promoted to an official member. It was the third performance of “North America #1c”. Unlike a regular concert, this show was a radio program recorded at “WYSP Studios”. The fan club version “UNPLUGGED IN PHILLY” is a recording of that broadcast. The sound of this work is a vivid soundboard that tells of its origin. Even though it is an official version, the radio broadcast is directly converted to a disc, so the mix and recording are rough, and it feels a little different from the image of an “official work”. If you have experienced “UNPLUGGED IN BOSTON”, you can easily imagine the sound of this work. On the other hand, there is a reason why this work is ignored even if “UNPLUGGED IN BOSTON” is reissued. Although there is no explanation from the official side, it is probably due to the disturbance that occurs in “Use The Man”. This is an obvious digital error, and it is impossible to reissue it… or rather, even if it is a fan club version, I am impressed that they released the CD in this condition (?). Of course, in this work, the error will not be left as it is. We have repaired it ourselves to create a natural and seamless live album. This is a seamless and beautiful album that captures the precious Marty era unplugged shows. Although “UNPLUGGED IN PHILLY” is delicious enough on its own, this album is even better. One rare official track is also included as a bonus. The rare take is “Trust” from the compilation CD “101 KUFO PRESENTS BOOTLEG: LIVE ON-AIR”. Although it has “BOOTLEG” in the title, this is a full-fledged official work. This compilation was produced by St. Louis FM station “EXTREME RADIO 104.1” and is a collection of acoustic performances that appeared on the program. MEGADETH is also included unplugged. This compilation was also released during the Marty era. By combining it with the main album “UNPLUGGED IN PHILLY”, it is also a complete album of “official unplugged shows from the Marty era”. Finally, let’s organize the masterpieces that can be enjoyed in this work. Cryptic Writings (5 songs) I’ll Get Even (★) / A Secret Place (★) / Use The Man / Trust (2 takes) / Almost Honest Others (2 songs) Countdown To Extinction (★) / Anarchy In U.K. (★) *Note: The “★” mark indicates a song that cannot be heard on “UNPLUGGED IN BOSTON”. This is a phantom official work that was released in the fan club but has been discontinued because few people know about it. This is a disc that allows you to enjoy the precious acoustic stage of the Marty era, which is different from “UNPLUGGED IN BOSTON”. Official soundboard with quality that exceeds the official quality. A discontinued unplugged work exclusive to the fan club is released. This is the highest version that has repaired the sound distortion that was fatal on the official version, and rare tracks provided for the compilation are also included as bonuses. This is a disc that completely covers the “official unplugged of the Marty era”. Live at the TLA, 94FM WYSP Studios, Philadelphia, PA, USA 10th July 1998 SBD 1. Time: The Beginning Intro 2. I’ll Get Even 3. A Secret Place 4. Interview 5. Use The Man 6. Countdown To Extinction 7. Trust 8. Almost Honest 9.
