Description
After disbanding in the 70s, the Mahavishnu Orchestra resurrected in the 80s with a new lineup. This is a live soundboard recording of the Mahavishnu Orchestra! The performance at the Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival, held annually in Spain on July 16, 1984, was recorded from an FM broadcast soundboard source. John McLaughlin used guitar synths a lot during this period, and his playing was characterized by a keyboard-like sound. The band also featured Bill Evans (saxophone), known for his work with Miles Davis’ band, and the band performed uniquely. Chick Corea, who also participated in the festival, made a guest appearance on the last two songs. This is the soundboard live performance of the much-anticipated Mahavishnu of the 80s.
