Description
MAGNUM, the pride of the British Empire in the 1980s. Introducing the best live album from their heyday when they were climbing the ladder of success. This work includes “Sheffield performance on October 2, 1986”. This is a superb audience recording of the home country tour during the “VIGILANTE” era, with Roger Taylor of QUEEN as the producer. First of all, let’s check the show position from the tour overview in order to know the situation at the time. [1986]《“VIGILANTE” released on September 26th》・September 23rd-October 18th: UK #1 (26 performances)←★Here★・October 27th-November 30th: Europe #1 (33 performances) – December 8th + 9th: Ireland (2 performances) [1987] – March 2nd – 13th: UK #2 (12 performances) – March 16th – April 5th: Europe # 2 (19 performances) July 10th – August 29th: Europe #3 (5 performances) This is the overall picture of “VIGILANTE TOUR 1986-1987”. At the time, they were touring the UK and Europe without paying attention to America, which was everyone’s goal. This is an activity typical of MAGNUM. They started a UK tour around the time of the release of “VIGILANTE”, and this Sheffield performance was the 10th “UK #1″ concert. This work, which contains such a show, is a heart-warming and shining audience recording. The work was done by the world-famous master “Crazy S.”, and it is a top-quality CD made directly from the master cassette that was given to him by the artist himself. “Crazy S.” left countless masterpieces in the 80s, but his heyday was definitely in 1986. Ozzy Osbourne, BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN, ACCEPT, TWISTED SISTER, MARILLION, etc., each band has made a series of famous recordings that have been praised as “No. 1 on tour” and “No. 1 in the world.” It was a heyday that was even considered divine. This work is a top-class item from his 1986 collection. Although you can feel a slight sense of audience-likeness in the tone, the clarity, direct feeling, and detail… everything is far from the audience record. It was recorded in the front row of the famous venue Sheffield City Hall, and the on-core with no sense of distance and the detailed details of the small SE are wonderful to kick out a bad sound board. What is engraved in such a famous recording is a hero of the British Empire who was bathed in the wind of its heyday. The set consists of the newly released new album “VIGILANTE” and “ON A STORYTELLER’S NIGHT”, the former being a big hit with 7 of the album’s 9 songs and the latter 6 of the 10 songs. It is a composition in which killer masterpieces such as “The Spirit”, “Changes”, “Kingdom Of Madness” and “Soldier Of The Line” are scattered. In particular, the first half (disc 1) is thoroughly attacked with only two works, “VIGILANTE” and “ON A STORYTELLER’S NIGHT”, and the bullishness of the heyday is in full swing. And the performance is filled with that sense of fulfillment. As mentioned above, this is the 10th performance of the tour, and the engine has warmed up sufficiently from the consecutive days of performances, and yet there is no fatigue from traveling long distances only in the home country. Above all, the members themselves are youthful and shine with energy, as if they have just started working at full power. New member Mickey Barker hits out an ironclad beat and can freely groove with Wally Rowe. Tony Clarkin’s guitar breaks in and approaches so realistically that you can even feel the vibrations of the strings. And best of all, Bob Catley’s singing voice! He has a British voice that is full of melancholy, and his singing voice is as brave as ever. He is able to heroically perform a group of famous songs that are already dramatic. Despite being in the dying British scene, MAGNUM were the heroes who exuded the scent of pure British rock. Their heyday was captured by a famous British recording artist who was also at the peak of his career. That is what this work is. The music, the singing, the mood of the venue, the sound… everything is a masterpiece that exudes the pride of the British Empire. Although the quality alone is more than enough to be a masterpiece, it is more than just an excellent live album, it is full of elegance.
