Description
Of the seven performances recorded in conjunction with the production of the well-known “Waiting For Columbus,” the performance at Reisner Auditorium on August 8, 1977 was recorded on a stereo soundboard. The live album, which was realized at the suggestion of George in early 1977, was picked up from the Rainbow Theater and Washington performances, and was naturally completed with overdubbing and mixing, but this source was recorded directly from the performance on the day and from a tape that was roughly mixed at the same time. Compared to the version of this performance recorded officially, the natural feeling of the sound and the balance of each part are significantly different, and the stage on the day is reproduced with a sound image that directly conveys the atmosphere of the venue. You can hear the major balance adjustments made in the middle of “Walkin’ All Night,” which will be revealed in a later interview, and the version before the replacement, and although it is not a complete recording, the stage recorded over about 90 minutes is recorded with outstanding quality in both sound quality and performance content. This title includes many hidden parts of “Waiting For Columbus,” which is indispensable for tracing the trajectory of Little Feat. Live at The Lisner Auditorium, Washington, DC.
