Description

An audience album that captures Linda Ronstadt’s American tour after releasing her album “SIMPLE DREAMS” with amazing sound quality will be released on CD. Speaking of the masterpiece audience of her live performance in the late 70’s when she was at her peak, the famous album “LAY DOWN BESIDE ME” from Boston in 1976 has already been released. The exceptional quality received great acclaim, and finally, with the ultra-high quality audience recording that rivals it, the live stage of 1977 will be realistically reproduced. Speaking of the 1977 “SIMPLE DREAMS” tour, Atlanta in December was the standard, where Australian television stations recorded and broadcast. Regarding this video, the masterpiece press DVD “ATLANTA 1977” has been released from the MASTERPORT label, but this time it includes the stage held at Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles two months earlier. Linda’s popularity exploded with the huge hit of the previous year’s album “HASTEN DOWN THE WIND,” and with the release of “SIMPLE DREAMS,” she was finally elevated to the position of achieving stardom. The tour for this album started in late August 1977, and its first highlight was a 12-night performance at the Universal Amphitheater from late September to late October. All tickets were sold out and the event was a huge success. It was October 3rd when Chiakiraku was released this time. Boston’s “LAY DOWN BESIDE ME” in 1976 boasted such ultra-quality that it could be called a “rare masterpiece” among Linda’s 70s live recordings. This time as well, the quality is comparable to that, and if it is a live performance in LA…Yes, it was Mike Millard who recorded this show. For him, 1977 was the “Year of Eddie.” That is why he created a rare masterpiece recording, but it is a surprising fact that a few months after the enthusiasm at the LA Forum, he also attended Linda’s concert. Conversely, she was at the height of her popularity at the time, making Millard want to record her. In the first place, speaking of Millard’s Universal Amphitheater, I remember that it captured Bob Dylan’s stage the following year with the best sound quality, but Linda on this day also captured it with perfect sound quality, so it is wonderful. Atlanta’s Pro Shot DVD was perfect in terms of image quality, but the sound board audio has a balance closer to that of a direct connection to a desk. Therefore, although the clarity of the performing ensemble was perfect, the sense of realism was undeniably weak. Moreover, it is at the peak of its popularity. In that respect, this mirrored recording shows its true potential. It captures the sense of intimacy and immersion that is unique to amphitheaters, which has reached its peak of popularity. That said, there was no excitement that drowned out the performance or pierced the ears. It is a mirrored recording, and the main character is Linda’s voice and the performance by skilled musicians. When it comes to “high quality sound” or even “just like a soundboard”, the claims are lukewarm. I declare that the ultra quality is so great that it seems like it’s a soundboard itself, and it’s worth a listen for all music fans. If it becomes a Linda live performance at the height of its popularity, you can be sure that you can enjoy it even if you are not a fanatic. What’s more, since this version is based on the version that was released based on the first generation copy, almost no adjustments were necessary for release. What surprised me most of all was Linda’s voice, which was in such great condition that it was hard to believe that this was the last day of a 12-night performance. Her singing is truly wonderful and can be described as a “singing voice that packs a punch”. In the 1970s, when singer-songwriters were at their peak, it was amazing to see Linda, who was a singer to the last, put on a magnificent show backed by her explosive popularity. The fact that each performance was long enough to fit on one CD probably made such continuous performances possible, but it was such a huge hit that it became a triple platinum disc. The “SIMPLE DREAMS” tour will finally expand its venue to an arena. Therefore, the value of the sound source that captured this relaxed mood theater performance with perfect sound quality is historically important to Linda. In fact, shortly after the “SIMPLE DREAMS” tour started, keyboard player Don Grolnick was involved in a traffic accident, and songwriter Andrew Gold, who had played guitar on the previous year’s tour, was moved to keyboards, and the tour continued. Linda tells us that they were forced to change band members that day as well. Rather, it is unique to the ultra quality of the mirrored recording that conveys the band’s cohesiveness that even such happenings bounce back. The scene where Kenny Edwards’s bass solo continues with Wadi Wachtel’s guitar solo in “You’re No Good” at the end of the live performance can’t be captured on the soundboard, right? It’s so vivid that you can almost feel it. Introducing Mike Millard’s new masterpiece, which captures Linda’s best stage at the peak of her popularity with the ultimate sound quality! ★Amazing super high sound quality.
