Description
After the miraculous Black Sabbath record transfers and the astonishing vinyl rip series for Jeff Beck’s “Wired” last week (Jeff Beck’s “TRUTH: ORIGINAL UK LP MONO PRESSING” was also released by the same person), this master’s Led Zeppelin record is here. The theme is the US version of the 1969 first album, but this time it’s not the original 1969 version, but the so-called “original 2nd pressing” from the 1970s. It was cut by George Piros, and although it may be due to the good equipment used to transfer the records, it is not only comparable to the original 1969 version, but also has the best sound pressure and positioning when compared to the original 1969 version. The ’69 version is louder and punchier, and it goes without saying that it is the strongest and best, but this “Original 2nd Pressing” has a more settled overall balance and sounds “just the right texture and balance” than any of the firsts I’ve heard so far (although I don’t know if this is the result of George Piros’s cutting work at the time). Or maybe it’s the miraculous magic produced by the use of high-end equipment and mint masters (the level of this master’s recording is a bit beyond common sense), but I think it’s best to just listen to it. Of course, in that case, I would like you to compare it with several types of firsts you have at home. Taken from the US LP(Atlantic SD 8216) Early 1970s reissue LP mastered by George Piros 1.
