This is an audience recording of a live performance at Yale Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut on August 15th, the first day of the North American tour in the summer of 1970. This performance has not been re-released since it first appeared on a two-disc CD titled “RARE SHORT PARTY” a dozen years ago, so this is the first time it has been released on a vinyl record in a long time. The presence of That’s The Way, Bron-Yr-Aur, and Thank You has not been confirmed among the live performances from this period (the previously released titles are thought to be derived from this). However, the sound source used for the previously released titles originally had many cuts, and the tape cuts in and out all around the points where the unidentified songs would have been played at a normal live performance, and there is also testimony from a person who actually saw the live performance on this day that That’s The Way and Thank You were played. Therefore, it is highly likely that the previously released titles will not include all the songs, and this will be the same sound source item as the previously released titles, but since this live performance was difficult to obtain as a record for a while, this release is good news for fans who have never heard this live performance before.
