Description
Steel God JUDAS PRIEST shocked the archipelago with his 13th visit to Japan. The latest guitar album is scheduled for release. You might be hearing people saying, “A guitar album? What is this?”, but the true nature of this work is an audience album. It is the original master of the “November 26, 2018: Grand Cube Osaka” performance. So what makes a “guitar album” is the sound balance. A very vivid recording with the guitar as direct as possible. This Japan tour has been highly praised as “the best of the 21st century,” and it is a live album that shows the virtuosity of the new guitar team that was the driving force behind it. Before introducing the sound in detail, first let’s talk about the show’s position. It’s also a release rush for labels, so let’s keep things organized here as well. ・November 21st: Zepp Sapporo ・November 23rd: “TAJIMI 2018” ・November 25th: “OKAYAMA 2018” ・November 26th: “OSAKA 2018″ & [This work] ・November 28th: ” TOKYO 2018”・November 29: “TOKYO 2018” & “MUSASHINO FOREST ARENA 2018” In this way, the Grand Cube Osaka performance will also be released as “OSAKA 2018”, but this work is a completely different recording. Of course it’s not a bad recording (never!). It is a masterpiece recording directly handed down from a recorder who has produced masterpieces one after another. In fact, this work was recorded from the front row, and the directness and closeness of the sound that was picked up directly is amazing. The sharp riffs and dancing harmonies are all up close down to the last detail. It’s a sound that allows you to clearly feel the nuances of picking and arming. However, the balance cannot be said to be beautiful. Anyway, the guitar is pushed to the front, and the vocals come in from the back. The front row is a position where miracles can happen if done well, but it may not necessarily be the best depending on the band’s settings. This work shows that balance. Although the recording itself is wonderful, Rob Halford’s shout, which is in great condition this time, is the life. However, I would like you to experience this intense guitar sound by all means… Because of this conflict, I decided to introduce it as a gift title. The virtuosity of the young twins depicted in that sound is truly amazing. Even though they are young, Richie Faulkner is 38 years old, and Andy Sneap is 49 years old. Although he is not a young man who plays stupidly and violently, his riffs are crisp and the synchronization of the twins is overwhelming. Above all, because the tempo has increased in recent years, the sense of speed and elation in the fast numbers is completely different. When I think of “lively twin PRIEST songs”, I think of HALFORD, but they are similar but different. Because HALFORD had a separate original, I could see a glimpse of the mindset of “changing the arrangement” and “creating my own phrases,” but this work is JUDAS PRIEST, which is the original path of the original. Rather, what oozes out from there is a determination to “not tarnish the gold signboard,” and Richie in particular takes on part of Glenn’s part, making a great contribution. The guitar, which has a youthful potential and even a tremendous spirit, is so powerful that it seems to overwhelm even Glenn & KK in their youth. “FIREPOWER JAPAN TOUR” is receiving a storm of rave reviews in all quarters. The biggest point is Rob’s singing, but that was only possible because of the rejuvenated ensemble. This is a masterpiece guitar album where you can thoroughly enjoy the twin that was the driving force. Although it is a recording that is not suitable for everyone in terms of balance, the quality is excellent and it is a very interesting one because it is “FIREPOWER TOUR”. ★This is a front row recording.
