Description

A treasured recording of the legendary 1979 Maxis performance, when the Heartbreakers reunited, has arrived in a high-quality mono audience recording! In 1979, Johnny was performing in parallel with the Gang War with Wayne Kramer and the reunited Heartbreakers, and Jerry Nolan was also active, releasing a single with his own band, Idles. This work records the early show of a live performance held at Maxis Kansas City on April 28, 1979. The late show of this day has already been released on the CD “UNRELEASED MAX’S KANSAS CITY ’79”, but the early show is a rare recording that has never been heard before! (The Maxis performance the next day was recorded on the same label’s already released version “LOST REUNION GIG IN MAX’S ’79”.) It has been digitally transferred from the low-gene master, and although it is mono, the vocals as well as each part are recorded very well balanced. It’s a shame that the endings of “Leave Me Alone” and “Do You Love Me?” are missing, but the rest of the album is complete. The album starts with “Leave Me Alone aka. Chatterbox”, an ominous sound effect of a Nazi command, and includes songs from L.A.M.F., such as “Too Much Junkie Business”, “Seven Day Weekend”, and a cover of the Motown classic “Money”, which is a rare tune that seems to have never been played outside of this Maxis 2 Days, with Jerry Nolan on vocals. In addition, you can listen to “Great Big Kiss”, which features a saxophone player as a guest. This is a powerful item full of highlights!
