Description
At one time, there were reports of John Sykes’ revival, but he remained silent for 16 years without making a full-scale start. A treasured original recording recording his last visit to Japan has been newly discovered. What is engraved in this work is the “April 17, 2004: Nagoya Club Diamond Hall” performance. This is an exquisite audience recording. Speaking of coming to Japan in 2004, not only is there an official live album “BAD BOYS LIVE!”, but our store also introduces the masterpiece “OSAKA 2004” from the Osaka performance. First, let’s organize the collection, including this work, according to the dates at the time.・April 16: Osaka Namba Hatch “OSAKA 2004″ ・April 17: Nagoya Club Diamond Hall ←★This work★ ・April 20: SHIBUYA-AX ・April 21: Kawasaki Club Citta all 4 Performance. In fact, the official version of “BAD BOYS LIVE!” does not have specific date data, and is credited as having been produced for four days. Among them, this work is the second live album following “OSAKA 2004″. This work recorded at such a show is truly the best. After all, the recording was made by a master who is well-known at our store, “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”. It is made into a CD directly from the original master. In fact, the “strongest man” at that time was still recording only for his own enjoyment, and he had not yet reached the level of precision and closeness that he has now. However, that is just the level of tone. If the core is very thick, it will give you a direct feeling, and it will feel like “close distance” instead of “zero distance.” The prototype of the “strongest man” sound, which is strangely free of surrounding noise, has already been completed. What is depicted with such a sound is a show that summarizes John’s career. As mentioned earlier, “BAD BOYS LIVE!” is the symbol of this visit to Japan, but the official edition is an excerpt live album packed into one CD. On the other hand, this work is a full-show recording at once. Let’s compare and organize them here. THIN LIZZY/WHITESNAKE era (7 songs)・THUNDER AND LIGHTNING: Cold Sweat/Thunder and Lightning・Solo single: Please Don’t Leave Me・SERPENS ALBUS: Bad Boys/Crying in the Rain/Is This Love/Still of the Night BLUE MURDER/SYKES era (8 songs)・BLUE MURDER: Billy (★)/Jelly Roll・NOTHIN’ BUT TROUBLE: We All Fall Down/She Knows (★)・OUT OF MY TREE: I Don’t Wanna Live My Life Like You・20TH CENTURY: Cautionary Warning (★) / Defcon 1 (★) / Look in His Eyes *Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard even on the official “BAD BOY LIVE!”. …and it looks like this. As expected, there is no TYGERS OF PAN TANG, but there is a concentration of famous songs from THIN LIZZY to SYKES. Especially delicious are the famous songs from the WHITESNAKE era. Until then, the number of performances in Japan had been limited to “Still of the Night,” but in 2004, the ban was lifted all at once. Even John’s non-original “Crying in the Rain” is featured (of course, John is more than qualified to create that solo). Also, “Cautionary Warning” and “Defcon 1” from “20TH CENTURY” are delicious. In the latter half of SYKES, up-tempo numbers that cooked up THIN LIZZY taste in John’s style were mass-produced, but the live opportunities that were supposed to shine were very few and remained silent. In this work, you can enjoy such valuable live performances with the best sound. In fact, the light beat becomes even more powerful live, and the catchy melody pulls the venue together. If John didn’t give up and pushed forward with more live activities, he might have been widely loved…It’s a wonderful show that makes you feel delusional. John Sykes has not released a new work or come to Japan since his last release in the spring of 16 years ago. This work will heal that thirst…In fact, it is a sinful live album that will make you miss it even more. A group of famous songs that stir your heart and the sound of black beauty that makes you melt.
