Description
The Jeff Beck whirlwind that blew through the archipelago. Some people may not be able to fully understand that the excitement has passed, and may feel a sense of regret. However, even if Jeff has left, the sound source is yet to come. Our shop has been reporting live albums for a long time, but we have another superb product. This week we will be releasing three excellent works, all of which are excellent, but we would especially like to recommend one of the best. This is the audience album for the performance at Sendai Sun Plaza on January 26, 2017. For the latest performances in Japan, many customers want a concert that they have experienced themselves. For this reason, local performances are not often talked about, but this is a truly powerful one. The best thing about it is the superb sound. Last week we introduced the abnormal sound of “YOKOHAMA 2017 (Wardour-217)”, but it is a tremendous sound that is comparable to that masterpiece. Before introducing the contents of the album, let’s check the position by date.・January 25: Pacifico Yokohama “YOKOHAMA 2017” ・January 26: Sendai Sun Plaza [This work] ・January 28: Iwate Prefectural Civic Hall ・January 30: Tokyo International Forum “TOKYO 2017 1ST NIGHT” ・January 31: Tokyo International Forum “LIVE IN TOKYO 2017” ・February 2: Grand Cube Osaka “OSAKA 2017” ・February 3: Fukuoka Sunpalace ・February 4: Hiroshima Ueno Gakuen Hall ・February 6: Nagoya City Public Hall “NAGOYA 2017 THE VIDEO” ・February 7: Amashin Archaic Hall *Note: Only representative works are included in each performance. That’s a total of 10 performances. The other day’s “YOKOHAMA 2017” was the first day of the tour, and this work is the second performance following that. The person who recorded this work is a master known only to those in the know. In fact, the distribution of recording artists in Japan is quite concentrated in the Kanto and Kansai regions, and Tohoku is suffering from a shortage of recording artists. However, he is the only person among them who has repeatedly made shining recordings. Although there are not many works because it is a region where few foreign artists come to Japan, each work is full of soul. He has made a series of extremely clear recordings in Sendai, such as Cyndi Lauper and DEF LEPPARD in 2015, and CHICAGO in 2016. This work is a masterpiece among such a collection of masters. Jeff Beck is popular among discerning ears, so his average is higher than other bands/artists, but even with that standard, he can only be called a “super masterpiece.” The quality of using the “Schoeps MK4” is at a level where even the words “like a sound board” could be an insult. The thick musical tones pass straight through the transparent space, and the glossy “ringing” boasts a beauty that blows away line recordings and the like. And yet, the delicacy of the picking captures even the lightest nuances that seem to disappear, and even conveys the subtleties of the vibrato. On the contrary, it is an ultra-clear sound that can even hear the subtle electrical noise of “shhh” that leaks from the on-site amplifier when there is no sound. The reason why such beautiful sound was realized may be due to the environment. The “Sendai Sun Plaza” where the event took place is a 2,000-seat distant view hall, also known as the “Mini Budokan”. The master was recorded slightly to the left, about the 10th row on the first floor, which means right in front of Jeff. The sound of the guitar is close to you, but the scale of the “Mini Budokan” is not too wide, which is exquisite. And the “2017 JEFF BECK GROUP” depicted with this shining sound sounds even more vivid. To be honest, the new album “LOUD HAILER” was a hit, but when the live performance was actually held, the fresh charm that had never been heard before was directly conveyed, and I felt that I was heading in the direction of “praise”. And that charm overflows from this work. I never thought that Rosie’s coquettish vocals would be so expressive, and that her interaction with Beck would tickle my heart… There must have been good recordings overseas so far, but this recording brings out a charm that had not been conveyed before. It is a recording that makes you realize the mysterious power of “good sound” itself. It is truly a treasure from a local performance. Although the final performance has not yet been completed, this is a masterpiece that has not backed down even half a step, turning the Kanto and Kansai masters against each other, and has boldly put itself forward as a candidate for the best masterpiece. A world of beautiful sound that says “leave it forever”. Live at Sendai Sunplaza Hall, Sendai, Japan 26th January 2017 TRULY PERFECT/ULTIMATE SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (47:18) 1.
