Description

Introducing an amazing sound board album that connects directly to the desk. This work was recorded at “St. Louis performance on August 24, 2014”. It is the same “JEFF BECK AND ZZ TOP SUMMER 2014 TOUR” as “LAS VEGAS 2014”, but it is the 11th performance with a more advanced schedule. Since this tour was a total of 20 performances, this work contains the live performance in the middle. It’s not just the date, time and location that are different. The set also changed slightly, and instead of “Danny Boy” dropping, “Big Block” and “Where Were You” were set in. As a result, this work is one song longer, about 5 minutes. Other songs, song order, and members are the same as “LAS VEGAS 2014”. The content of the show is also very similar, but of course it is Jeff Beck, so the atmosphere of the scene and the many phrases that respond sensitively to the interactions between the members are completely different. However, the transcendent desk-connected sound is the same as “LAS VEGAS 2014”. The loud cheers that can be heard when the musical tone becomes quiet, such as between songs or between phrases, are certainly enthusiastic, but their presence is far away. As those of you who have listened to American recordings can imagine, the audience there goes to shows to have fun, even if it’s Jeff Beck, and listens to their favorite phrases and impressions. At that moment, they cheered as if they were playing. The atmosphere is quite different from Japan, where even the sound of rustling clothes can be distracting, but even the loud cheers can’t be felt unless you strain your ears. That’s what I’m doing. And, the direct feeling of that musical tone is amazing. As I mentioned at “LAS VEGAS 2014,” it’s like your brain has become an amplifier rather than being fed into your ears. Rather than experiencing a live performance, this is a live album that makes you feel as if your head is the venue, and it is a live album with a direct connection that is impossible even with an official album. The mix is perfect based on that direct feeling. In fact, this is also a point that deepens the mystery. Although it is a valuable sound board that connects directly to a desk, if you work with as many bands as there are stars, you will be exposed to a variety of sound sources. However, many of them were casually recorded by inserting a cassette into the soundboard at the scene. This tends to create bias in the mix of each instrument, to a greater or lesser extent. However, in this work, although there is no deviation from the axis that “Jeff’s guitar is the main character”, the ensemble is wonderfully controlled, and although it is raw, it is not rough. Why was there so much recording, and two performances were also recorded together with “LAS VEGAS 2014”? Although it is not known for sure, it may be a recording for the official release. This “JEFF BECK AND ZZ TOP SUMMER 2014 TOUR” is actually the tour that produced the official live album “LIVE+”, and “LIVE+” is compiled from each performance from August 7th to August 31st. It is being done. I do not know whether the take of this work is used, but unless it is a recording for that purpose, it is a bit difficult to think of such a high quality and careful recording. That’s how it sounds. So, is this work similar to “LIVE+”? That’s not really the case. Of course, there are some that are close to performances, but compared to the overwhelming live feeling of this work, the sound of “LIVE +” is clearly processed. Dubbed cheers, echoes that try to create a sense of scale… “LIVE+”, which seemed so wonderful, can’t help but sound artificial after this work. It has a direct feeling as if the “2014 Jeff Beck Group” is playing in your head, but it is of the highest quality that is rarely seen among the best direct-to-table soundboards. On top of that, it is a live album that is overwhelmingly more vivid than the official version of the same tour. This awesome piece will be delivered to you this weekend.
