Description
The Jeff Beck Group’s June 29, 1972 performance at the London Paris Theatre, recorded for BBC broadcast, was recorded in full directly from the BBC transcription original disc. Although several titles have been released in the past and some titles are already considered to be the definitive editions, this release brings incomparable high sound quality and new discoveries. This item uses a completely mint condition, probably unused BBC master recording created in 1976. The titles that recorded the same performance in the past have a high recording level (sound pressure) and tend to be distorted, but this item records the sound engraved on the record in a pure state, so the graininess and realism of the sound are clearly different. The clarity of the cymbals in the intro of “Ice Cream Cakes” and the natural sound of the toms and bass drum can be heard with perfect separation and distance, setting it apart from the previously released sound that is mixed with bass. And Jeff’s guitar, which is important, is recorded smoothly in all ranges, and the rise of the sound is clearly different enough to grasp the time when the pick hits the strings, and you can hear the playing technique of subtly changing nuances for each phrase more than ever before. And surprisingly, in the broadcast sound source that exists as a previously released board, the cheers of the audience after “Got The Feeling” are suddenly faded out and edited into Mike Harding’s MC, but this disc does not edit the cheers, and even includes the 15-second MC that was cut in the previously released board! Furthermore, the opening comments that were missing due to the fade-in are recorded as they should be. The only drawback is that the Bob Dylan cover song “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You” recorded on the previously released board has been deleted from the master, but this item has the same content as the previously released board, but it has been added as a bonus from a master one rank higher. As a BBC title of the Jeff Beck Group, this item is definitely the definitive board. Live at Paris Theatre, London, England 29th June 1972 STEREO SBD 1. Introduction 2. Ice Cream Cakes 3.
