Description
The IRON MAIDEN collection by the world-famous master craftsman “Crazy S.” The new treasure is here. Speaking of Mr. “Crazy S.”, he is a master of masters known for the finest recordings of the golden age of HR/HM, but IRON MAIDEN in particular is a series of masterpieces. The vast collection of recordings left in the 1980s has become the “world standard for MAIDEN audiences,” including masterpieces such as “CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN LEICESTER” and “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1988: 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION,” as well as “THE DEFINITIVE YEARS.” ” series has also gained great popularity. Although a considerable number of works were excavated, there were still masterpieces left. This work is one of them. This is a superb audience recording of the “Nottingham performance on September 29, 1984”, a valuable “WORLD SLAVERY TOUR” masterpiece in the “Crazy S.” collection. The symbol of this tour is, of course, the well-known “Resurrection of the Dead.” First of all, let’s check the position of the show in its progress. 1984・August 9th-September 1st: Europe #1 (15 performances)《“Powerslave” released on September 3rd》・September 3rd-November 14th: Europe #2 (51 performances)← ★Coco★・November 24th-December 21st: North America #1a (20 performances) 1985・January 3rd-7th: North American #1b (5 performances)・January 11th: ROCK IN RIO appearance・January 14th – March 31st: North America #2 (50 performances) ← * Resurrection of the Dead (A-C side) ・April 14th – May 10th: Japan/Australia (15 performances) ・May 23rd -July 5th: North America #3 (31 performances) [“Resurrection of the Dead” released on October 14th] This is the whole picture of MAIDEN’s world tour, which is known for its largest scale. Long Beach Arena, which was the main venue for “Resurrection of the Dead,” was “North America #2” in the second half, but the Nottingham performance of this work was the 19th concert of “Europe #2” about half a year ago. This work recorded at such a show is an excellent audience with a clear and sturdy core. The original cassette of “Crazy S.” has been directly converted into a CD, and there is no sense of distance to the core that is right in front of you, and the details of each instrument are also vivid. You can’t mistake it for a sound board because it absorbs the tone and realistic handclaps, but the clarity and directness are such that it wouldn’t be strange to mistake it. As a matter of fact, when it comes to “Crazy S.” MAIDEN collection, the masterpieces are concentrated in “SOMEWHERE ON TOUR”, but there were recordings up to this point even in “WORLD SLAVERY TOUR”…. The discovery of this work was delayed compared to other works, but this was not because there was a problem with the quality, but only because Mr. “Crazy S.” himself had lost track of the tape. Rather, it is one of the masterpieces in his MAIDEN collection. The show drawn with that treasured sound is overwhelming. “WORLD SLAVERY TOUR” is based on the 1985 Long Beach performance, which is the main part of “Resurrection of the Dead,” so let’s organize it while comparing. Deano era (3 songs), Virgin of Steel: Iron Maiden/Running Free/Sanctuary Dickinson era (10 songs), Mark of Magic: The Number of the Beast/Hallowed Be Thy Name/ 22 Acacia Avenue (★)/Run to the Hills/Brain Reform: The Trooper/Revelations/Flight of Icarus/Powerslave: Aces High/2 Minutes to Midnight/Rime of the Ancient Mariner/Losfer Words (Big ‘Orra) (★)/Powerslave *Note: Marked with “★” is a song that cannot be heard at the Long Beach Arena performance. …And it looks like this, with the best selections from previous works other than “Killers”. Places like “22 Acacia Avenue” and “Losfer Words (Big ‘Orra)” are rare, and “Losfer Words (Big ‘Orra)” in particular is an instrumental masterpiece that was not played on this tour. Although there is an official soundboard for the live single “Run to the Hills”, it is extremely valuable to be able to enjoy it in the flow of the show. And even more than that is the incredible performance. Speaking of “WORLD SLAVERY TOUR”, it is also known as the tour where Bruce Dickinson’s slump started, which became more serious towards the late 1980s, but this work is still in its early stages. Although Aces High is not as smooth as it is now, the volume and tension of their voices are much higher than they are now, and their dynamic singing is nothing short of dynamic. Of course, Steve Harris’s bucking gallop is crisp, and the twins have a lot of construction, but they don’t feel well-crafted. While each song is a historical masterpiece, the potential of a fresh band that has just been born is fully unleashed, and the real-time feeling bleeds through and spills out from the enthusiasm of the audience who are witnessing it. “WORLD SLAVERY TOUR” will be passed down as a legend. Even “Resurrection of the Dead”, which was full of tour fatigue, was overwhelming, but this work is packed with even more intense shows in the early stages. This is a historical masterpiece that revives such a full show from the master cassette of master “Crazy S.”.
