Description
A live album reprinting the legendary LP will be released! This work is a reprint of the 2-disc analog “KILLERS”. This LP, which has the title of the second album on the jacket copy of the single, includes “May 24th Nakano Sunplaza.” It was also a “night session” broadcast on FM by a certain public broadcasting station. Check out the schedule for their first performance in Japan here. ・May 21st Tokyo Employees’ Pension Hall ・May 22nd Osaka Festival Hall ・May 23rd Aichi Employees’ Pension Hall Official EP “MAIDEN JAPAN” ・May 24th Nakano Sun Plaza (evening) ・May 24th Nakano Sun Plaza (Night) [This work] In this way, the FM broadcast recorded in this work was also the last live performance in Japan. The sound is warm and analog-like. Since it is originally a high-quality FM broadcast, it has a thick musical tone that is different from many audience recordings, and there is no audience noise. It’s a really easy-to-listen sound. However, the rounded outline is incompatible with current digital sensibilities, and in fact, in terms of audio value, it is far from the Langley label’s definitive album “LIVE KILLERS”. Although all the songs from the broadcast are recorded, the position of “Twilight Zone” has been changed to match the recording time of each side of the analog. Yes, in the pure sense of “listening to live performances with good sound”, it is a sound that has long since finished its role. However, this vintage feel has a completely different set of values. The touch and resonance of the sound has a warmth and flavor that cannot be matched by the analog generation, the sense of time that becomes quieter every 20 minutes, and the reminiscences of those days that I collected while making various efforts… It is a sound that flashes back to the sight and smell. This feeling is also history. For example, an audience recording brings the atmosphere of the venue into the present day. In the same way, the sound of this work transcends time and brings back the atmosphere of that time. However, the smell wafting from the sound is not the atmosphere of a live venue, but the air of your home. I carried the analog disc with me carefully and put it on the turntable, my heart bouncing, in that room. There are two sides to the history of music. In the shadow of legitimate hit albums that sell tens or even millions of copies, there are underground albums that have been loved in secret, and people have loved and pursued them in all eras. This has not changed since then, and just like the world outside, history is carved into it. This work is a witness to that history. For those of you who have experienced the era that the sound of this work speaks about. And for those of you who weren’t able to experience that era and only heard about it. I present to you this time capsule. Live at Nakano Sunplaza, Tokyo, Japan 24th May 1981 Evening Show STEREO SBD Taken from the original 2LP “Killers”(R3591) Disc 1 (44:13) 1. Wrathchild 2.
