Description
A super recording of the 80’s taper “Per Eriks” that suddenly appeared in recent years is now available! The beauty of the sound, the clarity, the grand yet unmistakable sense of realism… A beautiful recording that doesn’t seem like it’s from the 80’s at all! “Soundboard level”? No, this is a masterpiece that I would like to call “official audience recording”! The 1988 IRON MAIDEN was selected as the first super taper. Contains the second half of “7TH TOUR OF A 7TH TOUR”, the performance in Stockholm, Sweden. Speaking of “7TH TOUR OF A 7TH TOUR”, IRON MAIDEN has evolved and deepened since their debut, and it was the state they reached as a result of pursuing, pursuing, and pursuing. In fact, after this tour, IRON MAIDEN, who were in their golden age, declared that they had done everything and went to sleep, and after their revival, they shifted their focus to “momentum.” What kind of stage is the ultimate stoic live that goes so far? Let’s listen to it… When you play the tape, you’ll suddenly find yourself listening to it. Just when I thought Bruce’s line, “Seven downward slopes, seven bloodied hopes….” was starting to play, there was a problem with the on-site PA, and the SE was interrupted. The fantastic sound of the synth guitar and the explosive sound that seems to blow away the disturbing air of non-fiction! The sound pressure is like hot air blowing up from the speakers. The vivid transition between live performances is familiar from “MAIDEN ENGLAND”, but the realistic impact sound of “boom!” is something you can’t experience from the official version. It was so dramatic at the live performance! This is not the time to be distracted by the sound of explosions. The musical sound that hits without any hesitation is the life of the sound source. This is also amazing. It’s not at the level where you can clearly hear every detail of each instrument. It’s a crystal clear sound that would be disrespectful to the sound source if you called it “soundboard grade”. Although it is an audience recording, I dare to call it “official grade”! All the instruments are beautifully captured, but the rhythm section is especially wonderful. The sharp attack sound of the bass and drums clearly emerges from the overall picture. How can I express this pleasure… Do you remember the excitement you felt when you first heard “PIECE OF MIND”? Nico McBrain’s hard drum fill and crackling bass intertwine in a progressive way, creating a fortress-like wall of sound that gives you the pleasure of hearing it. That “Bakibaki” and “Tokotaka” are still in the entire live performance! (It’s a little lame to put it into words, but I’m sure those who love “80s MAIDEN” will understand)!!In the 90s, Steve started singing “magnificent” music. With a preference for “unison,” Nico began to loosen his tuning and pursue “deeper sounds.” It’s a beautiful new world, but that hard pleasure is the true essence of the “PIECE OF MIND” and “SEVENTH SON” era. JUDAS PRIEST, OZZY OSBOURNE etc… No matter how many metal bands you have, they are the “steel aphrodisiac” that cannot be replaced. In fact, the rhythmic flavor that explodes in this recording is exceptional. Percussive drumming that rejects simple beats and sings and dances in unison with Steve’s gallop bass as the control tower. Even if you’ve listened to a song hundreds of times, you’ll still be surprised and wonder, “Did I really hit this hard?” I don’t remember any sound source where you can listen to such a combination of Steve and Nico so vividly. Even the official one cannot do this because it is buried in other instruments (you will understand if you listen to “Monsters Of Rock 1988 Soundboard Collection”). I said “official grade” earlier, but in a sense it is no exaggeration to say that it is an “audience recording that exceeds the official level”! I’ve only been talking about the rhythm section, but the guitars and vocals (of course) are extremely clear, and the balance is perfect. A twin lead that reverberates beautifully without any deterioration or distortion, and a vocal performance that pursues dynamics that are just one step away from being delicious. What’s more, it was a spectacle of cheers that spread excitement and enthusiasm… All the instruments had a dignified and thick core, but the atmosphere of the venue was not compromised. This is an absolutely miraculous recording! This “7TH TOUR OF A 7TH TOUR” is a little-known tour in the history of MAIDEN sound sources. There is also a wonderful degree of perfection of the official “MAIDEN ENGLAND”, and speaking of notable sound sources, until now Donington’s MONSTERS OF ROCK 1988 and the warm-up gig were the only ones. However, a sound source with more appeal than the official one has finally appeared! The world of music that the stubborn and stoic Steve Harris has finally reached. Please fully enjoy the real appearance with the perfect audience recording! Live at Isstadion, Stockholm, Sweden 30th September 1988 PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 (41:57) 1. Moonchild 2.
