Description
MAIDEN’s strongest ever “LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR” is sweeping the United States. The latest and super best live album is now available. What is engraved in this work is “August 1, 2019: Mansfield performance”. It is a transcendental audience recording that completely records the whole story. Speaking of the “LEGACY OF THE BEAST TOUR,” last year they toured European countries, and this year they traveled across the Americas. I’ll leave the whole picture to the explanation of “ATLANTA 2019” released at the same time, but here I’ll organize the collection of the currently ongoing North American tour by schedule. ・July 18: Sunrise performance ・July 20 “ATLANTA 2019” ・July 22: Charlotte performance ・July 24 “BRISTOW 2019” ・July 26-30 (3 performances) ・August 1 Sun: Mansfield performance [this work] August 3rd – 10th (5 performances) >> Now here<< August 13th – September 25th (22 performances) September 27th – 30th: Mexico (3 performances) ・October 4th-15th: South America (6 performances) This is the schedule for 2019. We are currently in the middle of our North American tour, but of the 35 performances, we have only posted the details for the completed performances. This work is the third report of the latest tour, and Mansfield is the 8th performance. This work, which records such a show, is of the highest quality that can be labeled as “super”! The length of the recording, from the opening movie time “Legacy Intro.” that was added in 2019 to the Monty Python theme after the show, is outstanding, but even more than that is the sound itself that runs through the entire movie. Recordings have been appearing one after another in 2019, but it boasts the best sound among them, and among enthusiasts around the world, it is a recording that is whispering that it may become No. 1 in North America. In fact, the core is powerful with a lot of direct feeling, and if the details are detailed, the sound is delicate. The left and right stereo feeling, the balance from high to low frequencies…there’s nothing to complain about in every respect. It is truly a great recording that goes “like a sound board” on the ground. In addition to the great performance sound, the presence of the audience in this work is also wonderful. As a matter of fact, there are some recordings that appear every day that are “soundboard-like”, but all such recordings pick up a lot of up-close voices. IRON MAIDEN’s show is one where the audience sings in chorus, and “LEGACY OF THE BEAST TOUR” is a super greatest hits that starts with “Aces High”. The audience dances with more surprise than usual, and it is not uncommon for the taper himself to be unable to bear it any longer and raise his voice. However, this work is a valuable exception. This work also absorbs a vast and realistic enthusiasm like the audience (I can understand the feeling when I noticed the intro of “Flight Of Icarus”, “Oh, my god!!”), but it is only “submissive”. Even the powerful climax follows the “main” performance sounds and singing voices, and there are no close-up screams to dampen the excitement. The balance with the thick performance sound is extremely splendid, and it simply depicts an ideal spectacle. Furthermore, the performance of this work is also powerful! Expanding the scope to last year, “STOCKHOLM 2018 (Shades 927)” became very popular with its transcendental sound, but that masterpiece was the 4th performance at the beginning of the tour, so the important performance was not good. Maybe the engine wasn’t warmed up, or maybe they weren’t used to running a show that uses a lot of props and props, but they kept making mistakes. On the other hand, the Mansfield performance of this work has the same set as last year and is more than adequate. And the timing of the 8th performance is also exquisite. Steve Harris always says, “Five performances are enough until you get used to the tour,” and this work has just hit full throttle. The harmonization of the triples is seamless, and Nico McBrain’s geometric drumming is also perfect. Of course, the gallop base of Harris, the commander, is also in great condition. As a matter of fact, Bruce Dickinson seems to be having a bit of a hard time with “Flight Of Icarus”, but he soon recovers. The chorus of the last difficult song, “Run To The Hills,” lets out a spectacular high that could not be expected even in the 80’s. With such an iron-clad ensemble, they run through the super greatest hits that embody MAIDEN’s ideals. Superb sound that is rumored to be number one on the tour, a complete recording length from the opening SE to the end, ideal audience spectacle, impregnable performance, and the greatest set list in MAIDEN’s history… It’s truly the best live album. I can’t help but want a soundboard album of “LEGACY OF THE BEAST TOUR” which has not yet been realized, but even if it does not come true, there is this work. Such an amazing masterpiece.
