Description
“MONSTERS OF ROCK” in 1988, which was the first appearance of the holy land Donington. The superb stereo soundboard album will be released. Donington is special for MAIDEN, and MAIDEN is special for Donington. The holy land was once known as the site of “MONSTERS OF ROCK”, and that tradition has been passed down to “DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL”. The holder of the record for the most headliners is IRON MAIDEN. They have headlinered six times across the two festivals, making them the most popular of all time (by the way, AC/DC, AEROSMITH, METALLICA, LINKIN PARK, and SLIPKNOT are tied for second place with four headliners). The first of these was “August 20, 1988: 9th MONSTERS OF ROCK”. It was their first appearance and they were the first big headliner. The show was also broadcast on radio and released as an official single, and has been loved by fans for many years. This work is a live album that brings together the best of such sound boards. There are two main types that were the basis for this work. Let’s take a closer look at each one. [BBC ARCHIVES take (8 songs)] The first to appear is the best of the BBC version. This is the apex sound board that was made official as BBC ARCHIVES in 2002. This album was released exclusively in the official box EDDIE’S ARCHIVE and quickly went out of print. It has been difficult to obtain for 17 years. The box EDDIE’S ARCHIVE contains three works: BBC ARCHIVES, BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH, and BEST OF THE ‘B’ SIDES (best of the single B-side take), and the most important ones are BBC ARCHIVES and BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH. Our shop has reprinted these two works in the style they should have been. First, let’s organize the contents. ● “BEAST OVER HAMMERSMITH” → “BEAST OVER ENGLAND” ● “BBC ARCHIVES (Disc 1)” 1979 Friday Rock Show → “THE ULTIMATE COMPILATION 1978-1981” 1982 Reading Festival → “BEAST OVER ENGLAND” ● “BBC ARCHIVES (Disc 2)” 1980 Reading Festival → “THE ULTIMATE COMPILATION 1978-1981” 1988 Monsters of Rock → ★This work★ … and so on. The official “BBC ARCHIVES” is structured to go back and forth between the Di’ano era and the Dickinson era, probably due to the recording time of the disc. Although the sound quality was the ultimate, it was also a strange live album to listen to all the way through. In contrast, our collection is strictly divided by period. The 1979 and 1980 takes have been released on CD as the culmination of the Paul Di’Anno era, “THE ULTIMATE COMPILATION 1978-1981,” and the 1982 take has been released as “BEAST OVER ENGLAND.” Among them, the only one that has not been collected is “1988 Monsters of Rock.” In other words, this work is the last piece of the collection. It contains eight super-excellent official soundboards from “BBC ARCHIVES” straight. [Single “The Clairvoyant” take (3 songs)] There are also other soundboards from this show. As the name suggests, “BBC ARCHIVES” is a BBC broadcast master, but at the time, three unbroadcast songs were released as a live single “The Clairvoyant.” This work also includes the three songs “The Clairvoyant,” “The Prisoner,” and “Heaven Can Wait.” This is also an official digital version of the CD single (by the way, the live single “Infinite Dreams” was also released at the time, but this was a cut from “MAIDEN ENGLAND” and not Donington). What’s best is that it doesn’t overlap with “BBC ARCHIVES” at all. You can listen to the official takes of 11 songs together. The single and “BBC ARCHIVES” have slightly different sounds because they were released close to each other, but this work is a remastered version so that you can enjoy it as one live album. IRON MAIDEN, the number one of all time, landed in the holy land of Donington for the first time. This is a compilation of the existing stereo soundboards for that memorable performance (you can enjoy the full show in “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1988: 25th Anniversary Edition”). It’s a great live album, and a must-have for collecting official soundboards as they should be. Monsters Of Rock, Donington, England 20th August 1988 STEREO SBD (64:46) 1. Moonchild 2. Wrathchild 3.
