Description

The “And Three Remained” era, which evolved to be catchy but also maintained the pride of progressive rock. The masterpiece sound board has been upgraded. A reprint album that revives the “sound output at that time” with natural transfer and GRAF ZEPPELIN’s detailed mastering is now available. This work is engraved with the “June 3, 1978 Dijon performance”. It is a super-excellent stereo sound board recording. GENESIS is a band with advanced sound source organization, and the masterpieces of each tour are quite confirmed. And the masterpieces of the “AND THEN THERE WERE THREE Tour” are the Chicago performance of “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO (Sirene207)” and the Dijon performance of this work. There are other sound boards of the highest class, but only these two have both “vertex sound + complete recording”. So, what position are those two in? Speaking of 1978, it is also a memorable year for the legendary first visit to Japan, so let’s look back on the tour as a whole. March 26-31: North America #1a (4 performances) {March 31st “…AND THEN THERE WERE THREE…” released} April 1-22: North America #1b (14 performances) May 14-June 24: Europe #1 (26 performances) ←★Here★ July 3-31: North America #2 (20 performances) August 20-September 9: Europe #2 (10 performances) September 29-October 22: North America #3 (17 performances) ←※DEFINITIVE CHICAGO November 27-December 3: First visit to Japan (6 performances) This is GENESIS in 1978. “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO” was at the end of the world tour, and the first visit to Japan was a bonus date that was added after a month’s break. In contrast, the Dejon performance in this work was at the beginning of the tour. It was the 17th concert of “Europe #1”. This show is known for having a superb full soundboard, and it is a classic that has been upgraded many times over a long period of time. More than 10 years ago, our store also had a great reputation for the press masterpiece “DIJON 1978”. This work is a piece that has updated the apex of such a masterpiece soundboard. The point is the super natural feeling. In fact, in terms of gene, the “DIJON 1978” master is still the highest peak, but that album was a bit overdecorated. At that time, the sound pressure war (loudness war) was in the middle of the day, and even newly excavated masters were popular for digitally processed ones. Even “DIJON 1978” reflected the trends of the time, and it was metallic with an emphasis on power. The sound pressure was strong, and the noise reduction was applied vigorously, even to the bathroom echo. It’s flashy and interesting to listen to now, but it was far from the sound that GENESIS spun in 1978. This work was born in such a situation. It was not a remaster of the previous album “DIJON 1978”, but a return to the original master of natural transfer. It was then polished up with the latest mastering that conforms to modern sensibilities. The modern sensibility is “an accurate reproduction of the live performance”. While making the most of the natural sound of natural transfer, only the accuracy is improved. The pitch and phase deviations are thoroughly adjusted to 1/1000th of a second, and the slight unevenness in playback that occurred during digitization is also corrected. Furthermore, the balance is adjusted after band analysis from deep bass to treble, and the left and right stereo balance is corrected without any deviation. To explain this method in an easy-to-understand way, it is “repair of paintings/cultural assets”. It is not related to modern trends and is not flashy or decorated. The sound itself is reproduced as faithfully as possible, with the utmost importance placed on the sound itself that was drawn at the time. Taking into account the effects of aging, the sound is restored correctly and beautifully, and the “1978 GENESIS sound output” that has been identified from various documents is accurately restored. The resulting sound is super natural and super real. At first listen, it doesn’t have the same glare as the previous album “DIJON 1978”, but the more you concentrate with headphones, the more you will be captivated by the resolution and beauty. Although the noise has been beautifully removed, there is no distortion like automatic reduction, the high notes extend straight and beautifully, and the deep bass vibe of the synth is delicate to the touch. The precision that makes you feel the master tape itself is the same as official high-quality CDs such as “Mobile Fidelity” and “Nimbus Supercut”. The full show of the wonderful “AND THEN THERE WERE THREE Tour” is depicted with such an ultimate natural sound. From the beginning, I have been repeating “Chicago performance and two major SBDs”, but in fact, the legs are different, so the sets are different. Let’s compare them here. Peter Gabriel era (4 songs) Moonlight Knight: The Cinema Show / I Know What I Like Others: The Fountain Of Salmacis (★) / In The Cage After that (13 songs) Trick of the Tale: Ripples / Squonk / Dance On A Volcano / Los Endos Silent Storm: Eleventh Earl Of Mar / One For The Vine / Afterglow And three people left: Burning Rope / Deep In The Motherlode / Ballad Of Big (★) / Say It’s Alright Joe / The Lady Lies / Follow You Follow Me *Note: The “★” mark is a song that could not be heard in “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO”. …And so it is like this. The repertoire, such as “One For The Vine”, “Deep In The Motherlode”, “Say It’s Alright Joe”, and “The Lady Lies”, is lined up, and the limited songs “Burning Rope” and “Ballad Of Big” are also delicious. In particular, “Ballad Of Big” and “The Fountain Of Salmacis” from the three-person era are rare songs that could not be heard in “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO” or the Japan tour. You can enjoy it on an official natural sound board. It is a full sound board that is on par with “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO”, but the taste of the set is even better. It is a live album of the champion that is the masterpiece of the “AND THEN THERE WERE THREE Tour”. A cultural heritage that reproduces the “Truth of 1978” without compromising the taste of natural transfer. A superb stereo sound board recording of the “Dijon performance on June 3, 1978”. This is the best sound board that combines sound and complete recording, and this work is the highest peak update. The previous version “DIJON 1978” was flashy processed, but this work is a natural transfer meticulously mastered by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. With an extremely natural and beautiful sound that seems to jump over time and space, it is the masterpiece of “AND THEN THERE WERE THREE Tour” where you can enjoy the delicious full show of the precious “Ballad Of Big” and “The Fountain Of Salmacis”.
