Description
This is a compilation video of the golden age of the Average White Band, from 1973 to 1979. In “Put It Where You Want It” from the 1973 Old Grey Whistel Test, most of the members had beards, and Alan Gorley already had the air of a father. This is a super high-quality video that shows that the band was playing a solid funk even shortly after they formed. In the 1977 Midnight Special, the image quality is poor and the songs are not played in full, but it is a kind of digest, but you can enjoy the lighter “Work To Do” than Isley, and “Star In The Ghetto”, which was included in the collaboration album with Ben E. King, “Benny & Us” in 1977 (later re-recorded by Ben E. King alone on “Make It Last” in 1978), and you can enjoy the rare and wonderful performances that are unique to this period. The main focus is the footage of 1979’s “Rock Goes To College,” and the setlist, which features live performances of songs from the late 1970s, from 1976’s “Soul Searching” to 1979’s “Feel No Fret,” is also all excellent. ‘Old Gray Whistle Test’ London, England 10 July 1973 Put It Where You Want It ‘Midnight Special’ Montreux, Switzerland 09/10 July 1977 W/ Sammy Figueroa (Congas) Pick Up The Pieces Work To Do Star In The Ghetto W/ Ben E.
