Earth, Wind & Fire came to Japan with the album “THE PROMISE” on their 2004 Japan tour. The September 4th Budokan performance (2nd day) was recorded in full with super high sound quality that you wouldn’t expect from the Budokan! There was no annoying chatter, and the cheers were so realistic that they gave me goosebumps! This was Earth’s last tour with Maurice White, so the Budokan was sold out! It was a packed house and a huge success! The content was a parade of classic songs, the best of Earth! The opening started with a bang with “Boogie Wonderland”! From there, three soul tunes were played in a row! Maurice played the kalimba on “Kalimba Story” and “Evil”. In the middle of the show, Philip Bailey sang three ballads. And in the second half, from “Space Fantasy” to “September,” “Let’s Groove,” and “Mighty Mighty,” three dance tunes in a row turned the venue into a giant disco!! You’ll be overwhelmed with emotion… You can enjoy a full hour and 40 minutes of amazing performance with 22 songs in total!! As it was Maurice’s last live performance, this is a must-have for fans!!
