Description
EUROPE came to Japan in 2015, ahead of the release of their new album “WAR OF KINGS” in March. The complete reproduction of “WINGS OF TOMORROW”, which has been much talked about this time, has been going on since 2014, the 30th anniversary, but it was only a few special gigs, and most of the shows were regular setlists. The monumental album “WINGS OVER KAWASAKI”, which completely reproduces the album, is of course a must-listen, but for those who have started to become interested in EUROPE again and those who have been fans for a long time, we would like you to enjoy their regular live shows with the highest quality. So we bring you “STEELHOUSE FESTIVAL 2014”, which captured the “Wales performance on July 20, 2014” with an audience recording comparable to a soundboard! In “WINGS OVER KAWASAKI”, we used the contradictory term “audience recording like a direct connection to the table”, but this work also has a line-like sound in a different sense. “WINGS OVER KAWASAKI” was a clear, close-up musical sound with applause and cheers that sounded like the audience, but this work has a slight sense of distance to the drums, but there is almost no applause or cheers. There is nothing to disturb the musical sound, and it is a different, outstanding sense of clarity. The live performance unfolding with such a powerful sound is truly the all-time best. It is a pity that the debut album “Seven Doors Hotel” is not included, but I am happy that they have done three songs from the hit “OUT OF THIS WORLD (which is often overlooked because of the absence of John Norum, but it is a masterpiece!)”. WHITESNAKE’s “Here I Go Again” is inserted in this work’s “Superstitious”, calling for a chorus. On the other hand, about half of the songs are from after the reunion, so it is also perfect for those who are wondering “How is EUROPE doing recently?” Although this is the latest tour so far, “BAG OF BONES”, it is interesting that the balance of songs selected from “LAST LOOK AT EDEN” is thick. Although their route has been a twist and turn, I think you can understand that they are a band that has always written good songs and catchy melodies. EUROPE in 2015 blew the wind of Nordic metal into Japan and reminded us of the joy of European HR that we had almost forgotten. Now that European HR is on the verge of extinction, why not reaffirm their abilities and achievements? This is the perfect live album for that.
