Description

From the Japanese performances held as part of the “ANOTHER TICKET” tour, the Budokan performance on December 7th was recorded using a first-time master cassette that is a completely different source from the previously released sound source on the same day, and of course has never been circulated among traders. The band sound is ideally captured, and the natural and clear sound draws you in from the very beginning. The tight contours of the mid-range are hardly blurred, and the sound quality is very well balanced and excellent! (Blues Power 1:07-1:39 has been compensated for by the previously released “Another Budokan Ticket”) Anyway, on this day, Clapton was in poor health (he was hospitalized for an internal organ disease in the first half of the year and returned in September), and Layla was not set in, which was unusual, perhaps because of the high key. (There is also a theory that he got sick from oysters…) Nevertheless, the performance itself was not bad at all, with After Midnight, I Shot The Sheriff, Motherless Children, which are full of solid phrases with good tempo and momentum, Double Trouble, Blow Wind Blow, Ramblin’ On My Mind/Have You Ever Loved A Woman, Clapton’s unique intonation in A Whiter Shade Of Pale featuring Gary Brooker, etc. … A wonderful ensemble with a good backbone is shown. In any case, the solo at the end of Double Trouble, which was set in towards the end of the tour, is definitely a must-listen! ! The set list is also enjoyable, with Muddy Waters’ Blow Wind Blow instead of Another Ticket, and Albert Lee’s number changed from Setting Me Up to Country Boy. A must-have item for fans that uses the first appearance source from the 1981 Japan tour to the 7th Budokan performance and ideally packages it with the best sound possible will be released!
