Description
The third release of Eric Clapton’s RAH performance encore is the title of the first three performances of the nine-piece band from January 28th to 30th, which is part 3 of the 12 consecutive performances at the Royal Albert Hall in 1989. This was a popular title that sold out immediately after its release. Since the same recorder recorded in almost the same good position every day, the sound quality is very clear like Pt.1 and Pt.2, and it boasts an outstanding sound balance with impeccable bass power. Of these, there are already existing versions for the performances on the 28th and 29th, but this is the highest quality master to date, easily surpassing them. The sound source on the 30th was a completely unreleased sound source that saw the light of day for the first time on this board. The band lineup changed to nine pieces from the January 28th performance. The biggest feature of this nine-piece band is the participation of Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits as a guitarist. Other members were added and replaced from the four-piece band of the first half of the schedule, Alan Clark of Dire Straits joined as another keyboardist, and Steve Ferrone was appointed to replace Phil Collins on drums. In addition, Tessa Niles and Katie Kissoon joined as female chorus, and Ray Cooper joined on percussion. It was a lineup that could be said to have returned to the previous year’s “25th Anniversary Celebration Band”. The highlight of the nine-piece band is the thickness of the sound that could not be produced by a four-piece band, especially the exquisite intertwining of Knopfler’s lyrical color with Clapton’s single guitar, and the melting taste of numbers such as “Bell Bottom Blues” and “Wanna Make Love To You” with his addition is an outstanding performance that you should definitely listen to. “Forever Man,” which was not performed by this band the previous year, has a different flavor from the four-piece band and is very tasteful. This change was exactly what Clapton intended, and Clapton, who enjoyed this difference in style, achieved the unprecedented feat of a further long-term performance in four bands the following year. This performance will be positioned as a memorable one that made it possible, a leap and jump point for Clapton. Don’t miss this historic moment.
