Description

DIO, accompanied by Tracy G, came to Japan for the first time in 10 years in 1997. A new excavation live album that conveys the scene is now available. This work is recorded at the “May 10, 1997: Club Citta Kawasaki” performance. It is a powerful audience recording. DIO at that time was not as popular as in his heyday, but on the other hand, his visit to Japan itself was a “once in 10 years” event since “JAPAN AID 2” in 1987. It was a Japan tour wrapped in a strange and rich heat, with core carefully selected fans who said “I’ll follow Ronnie no matter what!” packed into the club size. Because it was such a rich live performance, we also archived it with various live albums at our shop. It’s a good opportunity, so let’s organize the collection from the schedule at that time.・May 7th “MACHINE MESSIAH (Umeda)” ・May 8th “ANGRY NIGHT (Nagoya)” ・May 10th: Club Citta Kawasaki ←★This work★ ・May 11th “MACHINE MESSIAH (Kawasaki)” A total of 4 performances. Although they toured the clubs of Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka in a compact manner, in the Kanto region they performed at Club Citta Kawasaki for two consecutive days. This work is an audience recording recorded on the first day. In fact, the three performances of “Osaka x 1 and Kawasaki x 2” were covered in the big set “MACHINE MESSIAH”, and the first day of Kawasaki was also recorded. That recording was also a masterpiece, but this work is a different (and even better!) superb recording. The sound is truly “powerful”. In any case, there is zero distance and it is intimate. The master of “MACHINE MESSIAH” also had a closed-room sound of a club, but this work is even closer and on. That’s the super direct sound that makes you think that Ronnie is standing next to you on stage. Of course, the guitar and drums are extraordinarily thick, and the bass is so powerful that you can feel the floor and walls of the venue vibrating. The vibe that is on the verge of being vibrated feels even more comfortable. Such a powerful and pleasant sound depicts a full show that is excited by the return of legendary singer Ronnie James Dio. The set contents are almost the same as “INFERNO: LAST IN LIVE”, but since it is a time when there are few opportunities to touch it, let’s organize it here. Classics Rainbow: Mistreated (Catch the Rainbow) / Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll / Man on the Silver Mountain Sabbath: Heaven and Hell / The Mob Rules 80s Holy Diver: Straight Through the Heart / Don’t Talk to Strangers / Holy Diver / Stand Up and Shout / Rainbow in the Dark Last in Line: The Last in Line / We Rock 90s Strange Highways: Jesus Mary & the Holy Ghost Angry Machines: Double Monday / Hunter of the Heart … and so on. The hidden masterpiece “Jesus Mary & the Holy Ghost”, also called “the modern version of the 21st century psychopath”, is also delicious, but more than anything, the scene is excited by the gorgeous classics. I’ve been repeating “10 years since the last time”, but 10 years ago it was “JAPAN AID 2”, so not many people experienced it. Most fans are excited with the long-awaited joy that they have been waiting for since the “SACRED HEART Tour”. Of course, no matter how excited you get, the thick sound of this work will dominate everything with the performance sounds and vocals, so there is no difficulty in listening. You can just enjoy the delicious balance of the heat that fuels Ronnie’s tension on stage. Especially wonderful is “Mistreated” with “Catch the Rainbow”. Not only is it the first time in 10 years, but the singing voice that ends the consciousness of flying in time and space for about 20 years to 1978 roars. Tracy G is a lovable stubborn person who never bends his individuality, and he sticks to his own style even in classics. Therefore, this work is not suitable for those who are looking for a reproduction of the past. We recommend DIO from the 2000s onwards. The essence of this work is not there, but the joy of “that Ronnie is back!” And it is a great song that responds to it beautifully. A live album with a sound close to your ears where you can meet Ronnie again, who will never come back again. A powerful audience recording of the performance “May 10, 1997: Club Citta Kawasaki (first day)”. It is a completely separate recording with a new excavation master different from “MACHINE MESSIAH (Shades 447)”. Anyway, zero sense of distance and close contact. It is even closer and on than the “MACHINE MESSIAH” recording, and the super direct sound is amazing, so much so that you think Ronnie is standing next to you on the stage. This is a live album that allows you to fully experience the excitement of the first visit to Japan in 10 years, including “Mistreated” and “Catch the Rainbow” since RAINBOW.
