DEEP PURPLE is celebrating their 50th anniversary and is about to come to Japan to announce “THE LONG GOODBYE”. Introducing the latest live album that will calm your heart that is counting down to Japan…no, it will make you even hotter. This work includes “September 5, 2018 Derien Center Performance”. It is the super best audience recording. They are currently touring North America as a double headliner with JUDAS PRIEST. First, let’s check the show’s position from the 2018 schedule, which is the second year of “THE LONG GOODBYE TOUR”.・May 4th: Mexico (1 performance) ・May 30th – July 23rd: Europe (17 performances) ・August 21st – September 30th: North America (25 performances) ←★Here★・October 14th-22nd: Japan (6 performances) November 3rd-24th: Mexico (10 performances) This is the 2018 world tour that has been announced so far. The entire “North American” tour is set up in conjunction with PRIEST, and this performance at the Derien Center is the 10th concert of the tour. The sound of this work is just as exquisite as the picture. The most wonderful thing of all is… everything is perfect. The core of the musical tones and singing voices, which have no sense of distance, jumps right into your hands as they are extremely thick, and the details are not only a single note of each instrument, but a beautiful mountain from the beginning to the end of the sound. If you listen carefully with headphones, you can feel the atmosphere…I can’t help but feel it. If I had to say it, I would say that it feels more natural than the soundboard sound, which is more like an audience… or not. The fact is that it is an audience recording released online by a recording artist, but you can listen to it with the same feeling as an FM broadcast or an official live album. The show drawn with such a super famous recording is also amazing. What can I say, this is an incredibly bold and ultra-concentrated set. I think the latest work “INFINITE” was also great, but all of its new songs were cut. The only song that can be called a recent song is “Uncommon Man” from “NOW WHAT?!”, and the next most recent song is “Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming” from 22 years ago. All other songs are from the 70’s + “PERFECT STRANGERS”. It probably doesn’t last long because it’s a double headliner with JUDAS PRIEST, but it’s still intense. We reported on the “European” tour prior to North America in the masterpiece video “MOSCOW 2018 (Shades 939),” but it is a show that makes you feel even more suffocated in the rich 70s color. I thought it would be an easy show because it was solidified with an iron plate, but DEEP PURPLE is not like that. It’s a wonderful performance that seems to have given up on the new song challenge and instead poured all of their enthusiasm into it. The show starts with “Highway Star,” which was previously suppressed, and is energetic and sharp. Ian Gillan has been criticized for his deterioration since the 1980s, but since the 1990s, he has maintained his throat as if time had stopped, and before he knew it, he had become more youthful than other singers of his generation. The performance went into overdrive as if the singing voice was pulling them all the way. Ian Paice and Roger Glover hit out the same groove as they did 20 or 30 years ago, and Don Airey also ran his fingers brilliantly and smoothly with the Hammond sound just like Jon Lord. is. The PURPLE family is known for their shows reminiscent of the 70’s, such as the revived RAINBOW and Glenn Hughes’ “CLASSIC DEEP PURPLE LIVE” tour. Glenn in particular was proud of his wonderful active presence, but the original one was still amazing. Although the energy of the young backmen is given over to Glenn, the flexibility of free improvisation is unique to the original. The upcoming performance in Japan will be a full set, and in that sense, this work can hardly be called a preliminary version. However, it is a perfect piece to enjoy the superb sound of how fulfilling the performance is. There is no longer a full set until Japan, so if you are preparing for a long show, I recommend “MOSCOW 2018”. However, if you want to experience the excitement of the performance itself beforehand, there can be no better live album than this one. A masterpiece that depicts a special show with an unusually high-quality sound. Live at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, Darien Center, NY, USA 5th September 2018 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (78:48) 1.
