Description

EL&P, AEROSMITH, KISS, ANGEL, etc…A vintage video series from Fresno in the 70’s where many masterpieces are attracting attention. The David Bowie edition has been decided to be released. [Fresno footage from the 1970s, where countless shocking works have appeared] Included in this work is the “Fresno performance on April 2, 1978.” This is the audience shot. If you’ve experienced even one of the works of other artists, I’m sure you’ve already made up your mind about “that Bowie version!”, but for those who haven’t, let me explain from the beginning. This series is truly shocking. It is an audience shot taken with 8mm film in the 70s before VHS became popular, but its quality overturns conventional wisdom. Bowie is an artist who has relatively many 8mm video works, but each cut that is discovered is short, and one minute is on the long side. Recently, it has become popular to stitch together such fragmented 8mm footage to create a video work, but because of the short cuts, song fragments are lined up, and although it is valuable, it is difficult to enjoy it as a musical work. Most of them are not suitable. However, in this Fresno video series, each cut can be nearly 5 minutes long, and it is not uncommon to watch an entire song. Still images are inserted into the parts that are missing, so that you can enjoy the song properly. Even more amazing is the audio. It seems that there is a tremendous master in Fresno, and he is synchronizing the transcendental audience recording that becomes “like a sound board”. What’s more, this is a mystery that has become a hot topic. For example, Fresno’s famous recordings have been known for a long time, such as VAN HALEN, but the ones adopted in this series are fresher than the previous ones. Furthermore, even bands whose recordings of Fresno performances have not been known until now are covered with the best audio. Since the degree of research differs depending on the artist, it is impossible to say for sure that all of them are included, but it seems that they are not separate performances. It seems that there is also a completely new excavated recording. [Bowie version, which is also the video version of “STAGE”] This work is the Bowie version of the Fresno video series. This is a video work that allows you to experience an act of “ISOLAR II WORLD TOUR” on-site. Let’s check the show position from the tour overview here. ・March 29th – May 9th: North America (31 performances) ←★Here★ ・May 14th – July 1st: Europe (34 performances)《September “STAGE” released / “LODGER” production started》・November 11th – December 2nd: Oceania (9 performances) ・December 6th – 12th: Japan (5 performances) Speaking of “ISOLAR II WORLD TOUR”, the traditional official album “STAGE” Although it comes to mind, the Fresno performance of this work is also the same “North American” leg. This was the third concert of the series. “STAGE” was produced from four performances from the end of April to the beginning of May, so this work will be released about one month before that. What you can witness in this work is exactly the “other side of STAGE”. Anyway, the view is breathtaking. It’s a diagonal angle from the right side of the stage, but there are zero obstructions. Perhaps because it was a time when it was rare to photograph the audience, there was no sign of hiding the camera, and all that could be seen in the wide field of view was the stage. What’s more, a tripod is clearly used, and despite the camera work that zooms in and follows Bowie from beginning to end, you can stare at it with a sense of stability. And Bowie, portrayed with such visual beauty, is extremely cool. 8mm film is more beautiful than the early VHS, with even the smallest details being clearer. The film is in excellent condition, with no punch noise or wobbling. You can enjoy the view of the scene exactly as it was back then. While this is a valuable 8mm film that is a blessing just to be able to watch, it can also be enjoyed as “music.” This is the Bowie edition of the Fresno video series. It was introduced as a gift because it is a little short in the series at 22 minutes, but it is also a blissful 22 minutes. A valuable piece that allows you to witness the moving Bowie on the other side of the official edition “STAGE” from the on-site perspective. Selland Arena, Fresno, CA, USA 2nd April 1978 AMAZING SHOT!!!!! (22:14) 1. “Heroes” 2. Breaking Glass 3. Beauty and the Beast 4. Fame 5. Star 6. Hang On to Yourself 7. Suffragette City 8.
