Description
In 1979, Dave Mason was at his peak as a solo artist, winning four consecutive gold discs from the masterpiece “DAVE MASON” to “MARIPOSA DE ORO.” A stereo soundboard album with guest appearances by Joe Cocker and Stephen Stills is now available. This work includes “Berkeley performance on June 2, 1979”. The tour accompanying “MARIPOSA DE ORO” continued until the fall of 1978, and 1979 consisted of sporadic stage activities. The Berkeley performance of this work is one of them, but this show is also broadcast on the radio. FM sound boards have been known for a long time. This work is considered to be the pinnacle of such standard soundboard recording. It was digitized directly from the 1st Gene Cassette. In fact, the quality is really great. Actually, although it is called a sound board, it is not a type that can be compared to the official work, but it has a nostalgic feeling of realistic 70’s radio. It’s only natural that there are no dubbing marks on the 1st generation, but perhaps because the cassette was stored in good condition, there is no sense of tape twist or deterioration over time. Of course, the extremely thick core and close contact that are unique to a sound board have overwhelming detail. Even the slightest cuts in the guitar sound as if they were playing in your head, and the singing voice is so realistic that you can even feel its breathing as it passes through the microphone. The sound depicted is a show that sums up Dave’s 70’s. Now let’s organize the contents of the set. ●TRAFFIC (2 songs)・Pearly Queen, Feelin’ Alright ●ALONE TOGETHER (2 songs)・Only You Know and I Know, Look At You, Look At Me ●DAVE MASON (2 songs)・Bring It On Home To Me, All Alnog the Watchtower ●LET IT FLOW (2 songs)・We Just Disagree, Let It Flow ●Others (6 songs)・Every Woman (IT’S LIKE YOU NEVER LEFT), Share Your Love (MARIPOSA DE ORO), I Fell In Love (SKATETOWN, U.S.A.), Take It To the Limit, Watching the River Flow, Stand By Me… and so on. The album is evenly distributed with 1-2 songs from his solo debut “ALONE TOGETHER” to his latest work “MARIPOSA DE ORO”, and includes representative songs from the TRAFFIC era, soundtrack songs from the movie “Skate Town U.S.A.,” and various covers. There is. Speaking of Dave in the 70’s, the traditional live album “CERTIFIED LIVE” comes to mind, but this work includes numbers released after “LET IT FLOW” and cover songs by Bob Dylan and Ben E. King. You can also listen to It is a show that condenses the flavor of the 70s into one piece. I’m full just hearing such a set powerfully sung by Dave, who was 33 years old at the time, but this work is even more delicious with the guests. In particular, Joe Cocker also appears on Dylan’s cover “Watching the River Flow” and the last song “Feelin’ Alright”. The latter has become Cocker’s signature song, and he has also included it in his repertoire since the 1980s. You can also enjoy co-starring with that husky and powerful singing voice on the stereo sound board. Even after leaving TRAFFIC, Dave Mason created an era as a solo artist in the 1970s. This is a stereo soundboard album that condenses that golden era into one album. A live album that will flow into your ears for about 70 minutes with the 1st Gene sound, including all-time masterpieces and collaborations with Joe Cocker.
