Description

With Tom Peterson’s return in 1987, CHEAP TRICK had a hit for the first time in a while with the album “LAP OF LUXURY”, and in 1990 they released their second album “BUSTED” after Tom’s return. We did an extensive world tour. In this work, from the 1992 tour that was the second visit to Japan after the release of “BUSTED”, the third day of the performance at Shibuya Public Hall on May 9th is the best professional shot master that was broadcast on TV. It is recorded for about 82 minutes. 14 years after that first visit to Japan, in this work you can enjoy CHEAP TRICK’s passion and energy, a more skilled performance, and official quality. When you play the disc, the video starts with the members heading towards the venue. The members’ relaxed expressions will catch the attention of fans from the beginning. The image quality and sound quality are both perfect, and the clearness is at a level that would not be out of place even if it were officially released as is. The live started with “Oh Claire” and the familiar “Hello There”. They were just idols when they first came to Japan, which can be seen in “LIVE IN BUDOKAN 1978: JAPANESE BROADCAST EDITION,” but 14 years have passed since then, and each member has become more dignified. But Rick remains a unique character. Robin’s vocals have become more powerful. “Speak Now Or Forever Hold Your Peace”, where Tom’s play takes the spotlight at the beginning, can be said to be the highlight of the first half of the live show. After “Speak Now Or Forever Hold Your Peace”, the state of the sound check will be inserted before the live performance. The engineers and staff who are busy preparing for the live performance are truly professionals. After watching this, “Walk Away” and “On Top Of The World” will be received with a different impression than a normal live performance. “I Want You To Want Me”, led by Bernie Carlos’s light drums, is a famous scene that makes everyone want to say, “I’ve been waiting for you.” The audience in the venue was also very excited. After wrapping up in the middle with “Coffee Break,” which captures the members in their dressing room, the live show finally reached its climax. The CHEAP TRICK version of “Magical Mystery Tour” from “Heaven Tonight” is a must-see for all CHEAP TRICK fans! “Never Had A Lot To Lose” selected from “LAP OF LUXURY”, “Don’t Be Cruel”, and “The Flame” with an interview in between are the highlights of the second half of this work! After concluding the main part of the set with “Dream Police” (the red police lamp lights up, which is unique to the video), which really set the mood for the live performance, a highlight unique to the video appeared. Tom’s birthday is on May 9th, so Rick and Robin will call out to the audience, and the audience will sing a birthday song for Tom. Fans are sure to be very moved by Tom’s happy expression and the way the members toast. The live performance is wrapped in this warm mood and closes with the encore “If You Want My Love” and “Clock Strikes Ten”. This 1992 performance in Japan did not include any new material, but the unusual set list delighted fans. This work, where you can fully enjoy the special May 9th live in official quality, is a must-see for CHEAP TRICK fans. Of course, it comes with an original menu exclusive to this work.
